Hospitals are starting to tell our company that no reps allowed unless the OR director and the utilizing surgeon says it's necessary. No new business, no new cold calls.

My company internally just sent out some #$!&@ saying we are monitoring and prepared to institute whatever measures necessary.

My company is kind of dragging their feet now and it's pissing a lot of people off. Nobody has answered my question from 5:30 last night. Nobody has to be physically here to work. The few people that had desktops were given laptops. I just don't see the gains we will see from staying here too long

You really need leadership at times like this and we're not seeing anything. They haven't made a statement on for a couple weeks now

There's apparently a run on laptops. We were on a call this morning and our guy who handles that product line compared it to toilet paper.

a. Teams - make sure you have Teams installed and open
b. Desk Phone – consider forwarding if you receive client calls there
i.

Hi All,

I've seen this hundreds of times, but never with all capitalized.

I haven't heard that Egypt has any diagnosed cases but regardless, he should get out and dry himself off.

Found out from my fiance that my mom called her mom the other night (she's a nurse) and told her to steal a bunch of masks from the doctor's office. Really want to lay into my mom about this but I guess I'll chill out.

Public school teacher here. It's looking like a matter of when, not if, we'll be closed for several days. We're spending a lot of time this week planning on delivering lessons online/sending home as many paper copies of things we can to kids without technology/internet access. It's going to be a mess and have a huge impact on the end of the year (not to mention state testing), but it's absolutely the right call IMO.

I guess one good thing is the lack of snow days we've had in the area so students haven't missed many days to this point.

Closing for a week or more seems fine to me, but what's the end game? Who decides when it's safe to come back, based on what?

At least in our district, they're taking their cues from the county and state departments of health. Nobody has any idea how long we would actually be out, but it seems like 14 days (including weekends) at the minimum, but quite possibly more.

Thanks. I'm mainly wondering if there's something special about, say March 12-22 that led to these closures. Otherwise it kind of seems arbitrary, and/or if you really need to be out for that long you probably need to be out all spring/early summer

My guess is that schools will end up closing through April or May and then kids will make up the time by going to school all summer.

Which is a bummer.

IT just came around asking everyone if they can work from home. I think we're getting a message soon
