We're spending a lot of time this week planning on delivering lessons online/sending home as many paper copies of things we can to kids without technology/internet access. It's going to be a mess and have a huge impact on the end of the year (not to mention state testing), but it's absolutely the right call IMO.

gonna be some great keystone grades this year

Philly press conference happening now - city is recommending no public gatherings > 5,000 people (sporting events, parades). Not cancelling, not prohibiting, but recommending.

When I was there they were always pretty generous with cancelling for snow/etc., always an abundance of caution. This appears to be no different.

west chester is in some insane vortex that gets insane weather. i went to high school in wilmington and we had a lot of kids from west chester area that went to my school. feels like they had like 5 extra 'weather' days a year than the school actually had.

My mother in law said several men in her retirement community left for their farms due to the pending lock down of interstate travel.

Seems like conspiracy theory stuff.

Feel like we’re playing through the tutorial stage of an apocalypse video game sometimes.

Yeah, I guess the silver lining is that this will help prepare us for the real thing?

The response has been laughably disproportionate to the threat.

With the amount of limited test kits available I don't know how you respond to something like this unless you take the Italy route and tell everyone to stay inside and don't go to work but people can't afford to do that for the most part.
