Now you know how DC, Puerto Rico and African Americans feel.

We should give all three groups statehood

To punish the non-believers. If you can't get out of soul crushing student loan debt by year 5 you deserve to have your soul crushed even more. How about after year 10 we have the loans mature.

I've always been pro Warren, but her campaign looks dead in the water. That means I'll shift to Sanders. I have to admit I was skeptical that he might win (SOCIALIST!!), but I saw a Sanders ad the other day that made me think otherwise. It was him talking about Trump being a corporate socialist. He contrasted his form of socialism with Trump's brand and I thought it was very effective. He might win back some of these rural whites that feel like Trump is too extreme or out of control. And I do think most all dems will rally around him given what we're up against.

I guess I need to see the ad, but WTF is a 'corporate socialist'? He certainly is a guy taking advantage of every law and manipulating the law to be unethical? Is it because he bent over cities to give him tax breaks, pump in infrastructure funds, etc.? Its really just that he is a fraud.

I would assume it’s giving tax breaks to billionaires and subsidizing farms (and especially big farms) to survive tariffs.

Corporate welfare is often used to describe a government's bestowal of money grants, tax breaks, or other special favorable treatment for corporations. It highlights how wealthy corporations get much more support than the poor.[1]

Bill Barr playing with fire (unless it was a planned statement to throw the dogs off the scent of corruption):

"To have public statements and tweets made about the department, about people in the department, our men and women here, about cases pending in the department and about judges before whom we have cases, make it impossible for me to do my job," Barr said, "and to assure the courts and the prosecutors in the department that we're doing our work with integrity."

Trump wants all federal buildings in DC to be Greek revival or neoclassical. He says that that's what people expect. Now the truth of the matter is that DC has done a disservice in building buildings with random architecture styles amongst one another, but there's a flip side to this that these old building techniques and styles are not terribly conducive to modern needs like security or energy efficiency. But everything else to worry about this is certainly one of the stranger things to pop up on the radar.

I did like that NPR found someone to comment that buildings other than in the tradition of the Capitol, the White House, and the supreme Court were not with the founders had in mind. I say that of course because the founders didn't really have much of this in mind I would suspect. Short Thomas Jefferson had a definite style, but I have a hard time thinking that he or any other founding father was concerned with what a capital cities architecture would could and should look like.

I think it's a decent idea. And something that needs to be at the forefront.

I think this later part is pretty damning.

"The fact that the tweets are out there and correspond to things we're doing at the department sort of give grist to the mill”

Of course the rest of that is this:

”and that's why I think it's time to stop the tweeting about the Department of Justice criminal cases”

If I had to guess it would be that Bill Barr did not suddenly develop integrity and he’s only pissed because Trump is drawing attention to his (Barr’s) corruption. Much easier to do it behind the scenes.

My current thought is that there’s no way Trump doesn’t win 2020. A Bernie nomination is his team’s wet dream IMO. SORRY.
