there will be a depressed turnout with every other democratic candidate except liz but her campaign is dying. it HAS to be bernie. if bloomberg buys the nomination turnout will plummet

Agreed. Because by and large the Bernie supporters are petulent whereas the Centrist Dems are team players who view Trump as the actual problem.

yep. if they're going to capitalize on mischaracterization of this then by all means water that word down as much as possible.

bernie really shouldn't call himself a socialist though. thats definitely his diva showing. especially because hes not even a socialist so it just exudes this "trying to be an outsider" vibe. i'll still vote for him though!

sure some twitter lefties are gonna sit home or vote 3rd party but i was talking more non voters/independents/first time voters who now won't vote because the nomination was stolen by a billionaire. moderates are the republicans of the democrat party they fall in line, and i thank them for that. now we get to nominate a reformist candidate.

This shit (along with DNC fuckery) is why Bernie fans don’t respond well to other candidates. Bernie did more campaign events for Hillary than she did for Obama in 08 and we still had to hear about how it was his fault that she lost the election.

These kinds of comments are alienating a large and energetic voting bloc and are making them care more about the candidate and less about the party.

I think both of these takes are wrong this time around. The biggest increase in voter turnout needs to be minority voters in cities. I think most of the candidates can do that with the right strategy post-nomination, though some will have a bigger uphill climb.

I was in high school in 2004, but there seemed to be more confidence in overthrowing a more popular incumbent than there is in defeating the current occupant.

Apologies for the loaded language. However, I think the point remains the same. Sanders supporters are less likely and candidly is say much less likely to support a non-Sanders nominee then the other candidates supporters are. Newsweek just had polling data to this affect though the yang supporters were the worst. I acknowledge that it's not perfect because it's not a one to one comparison (I.e. Buttigieg supporters might be envisioning having to support Klobuchar)

Ultimately I am agreeing with the central point which is that sanders is the most likely to maximize Registered democratic votes.

i expect bernie bros to sit out in comfortably blue states and mostly turn out in swing states if hes not the nom. but a lot of abstainers are also politically aware so they might just do a never trump and turn out and only vote down ballot, which is better than nothing.

^^^ which strengthens my key point that the most important voters to win to beat trump are non voters, first timers, independents, and former obama voters who haven't voted since.

I don't know if he actually tweeted this. I'm pretty sure this is fake, just by checking out a few archived/deleted tweet sites.

Press Secretary Has a lot of free time to be on favorable TV programs giving her options. I guess that works since she is paid to no engage the actual press.
