Politics: Fine Politicians on Both Sides

Willie Geist: "Vinyl is back"

My scorecard:

Booker - He was commanding
Harris - Clear, compelling
Buttigieg - Mayor Pete leads with charm
Warren - Nobody touched her
Beto - He found his voice
Klobochar - Always steady, never spectacular
Sanders - The hoarse whisperer made many solid points
Biden - Good night was damaged by the rambling about 1940s electronics
Yang - He's wasting our time
Castro - Killed his chance by cheap-shotting Biden
Kill the chicken to scare the monkey

Splitting time between coal and chemical country effects your teeth and gums, vinyl is hot, outreach to Trump voters, and he voted so grudgingly or something like many Dems did when they voted for Hil.

Castro is cooked.

FWIW, I am not pulling for Biden as the candidate.

Biden's dentures fell out? Is that a thing that happened?

I only watched about 45 minutes to an hour of the debate. There were a couple of points where Biden rambled off where I was just left to wonder what the hell he was going for.

I do not think Pac is a Castro supporter, but he is completely out on Joe.

The question was about gun control but Joe thought it was “gum” control. Pretty understandable really.

 Time to add "implants 4 all" to the healthcare agenda.

Seriously, I hope this goes away because it could alienate some very dependable voters.

How about people running for president who believe it’s good policy to have parents play phonographs in their kids’ rooms?

Record players and vinyl have been incredibly popular over the last half-decade now. Not sure if that's what Joe was going for, but it's not out of the realm of possibility a staffer said it to him and he thought it was cool.

Yeah I don’t have much faith in Biden appealing to hipsters or even trying to understand them

think his point was that he read/was told about a study that shows language development is key to future success. a big piece of language development is hearing words over and over, which i guess is something that has shown to be missing in low income communities when compared to higher income communities/schools.

If it makes you feel any better, Calvin, I’m 64 and have an “All on 6” for my upper teeth thanks to a genetic predisposition to bone loss. But, more importantly, whether Joe Biden has dentures — even faulty dentures in need of Fixodent — has absolutely no bearing on whether he’d be a good President. Hell, by all accounts Washington had wooden teeth.

And one more thing: Amongst ourselves we older folks have a lot of fun kidding about our various infirmities because we know they have no bearing on our worth as human beings.
