TL;DL is that this guy hates public lands, and for years worked for an organization that's sole purpose was to try to purchase or long term said public lands to strip mine, drill, etc. Overall philosophy is that a quick buck to the fed at a discount for buying in bulk makes companies stronger. I don't accept the bolded as universal truth based on my experience. When I narrow it down to immediate family (about as white working class as you can find), composed of 1 late-great-depression senior, 2 boomers and 1 early gen Xer, it's 3 to 1. And the 3 are as anti-Trump as the 1 is pro-Trump. The senior may be the most ardent and is frequently cautioned not to repeat certain thoughts in public for fear of a SS visit.

I hope that's what he's saying. I read it as 'well keep hoping but [unfortunately] it looks like Warren might be it [and that is bad]' despite Warren and Hillary having really one major, unimportant when it comes to governing, thing in common.
