I got my MRI and CT results. Hoping for sprains did not work at all. 6 different breaks and two high grade tears.

I had a few pissy days but at least now I know it is going to be fixed. Not sure how I was walking. My car that my cousin tried to break in one day of borrowing will be better too. Silver lining!

Thanks, I have R/A and for some reason I never realized or could break the habbit of realizing I can not run up and down the steps anymore. Especially since things normally feel pretty good but it acts up at random times. My entire foot just bent weird and did all kinds of things on the way up then down because I didn't grab the rails quick enough. A certain step just hit me the wrong way and it all went. So basically I was being a dumbass.

Same. I still watch a lot of Phillies games but it’s mostly because they’re on and rather than channel surf to find something to put on before the kids go to bed I can put it on and then if I’m not watching something else that night it just stays on while I do other stuff like read or whatever. I don’t live and die with any of it much anymore, it’s just a fun distraction and if I start to get frustrated or annoyed, I just walk away. Too much other stuff in this world to get stressed about, men playing with balls isn’t one of them.

Sports are a lot of things to me, but the outcomes of the games matter much less to me now than they did when I was 15. Now, sports are a reason to get together, something to argue about with friends, and a way to connect to my kids. It's fun to play wiffle ball, and it's still fun to shoot hoops. But I no longer care whether I miss catching any game on TV or in-person... no game really moves the needle for me.

I felt it acutely when the Eagles won the Super Bowl. It really didn't matter that much to me. Basically, I was happy for all of the people that cared, and thought it was cool that the hometown team won. Partially because I'm a lifelong baseball fan, but partially because I've changed, but the Eagles win paled in comparison to the Phillies win 10 years earlier.

Ironically, and maybe this is more of a symptom than a cause, but I've retained my passion for sports with respect to front office decision-making, statistics, and the business side of it. That's the stuff that I continue to read about, and love to discuss. I have little interest in discussions about "Can you believe how poorly X player has hit this week? Does he need to rest a bit and clear his head?"

I just don't understand why the Phillies staff couldn't identify this as a serious injury right off the bat. Heal quickly, WilliamC, and sue them for every dime.

I pulled 4 ticks off of me yesterday after some forest play, deer ticks I think. Now I've come to learn that another species, Asia Longhorned, has made it's way to America. Be extra careful friends
