Where the hell is the new POLITICS thread?

Will anyone keep him from winning the nomination?

Seems like he has a terrific chance of beating Trump. I see him winning PA, MI, and WI.

I've said it before but I actually think Biden would have trouble versus Trump due to his age. Very easy to scare people about old man Joe being over 80 years old halfway through his term.

When the alternative is Trump, an obese old man?

The difference is Trump is going to call him old man Joe and stuff like that Biden isn't going to call him obese Trump. Catering to low intelligence voters and his base.

Just gives Trump an easy out no matter what the issue is.

By that (possibly true) logic any Dem candidate is going to get eviscerated. I don't see why old is worse than socialist or bitch or whatever.

It's true but I think age scares people easier than the other things.

Trump is going to be 74, Biden is going to be 77. Biden is healthier than Trump. It's a wash.

If anything, Trump will go the "Creepy Uncle Joe" or "Pedo Joe" route.

I put it at 50/50 that Trump pisses himself in public before election day 2020.

As a foreigner, I don't really understand why they wouldn't just join up with the Lib Dems as they're an already existing centrist pro-Europe party, but there's probably some reason. Don't think there's going to be a huge market at the polls for these folks, but elections are possibly 3 years away so time to figure something out. I think they're hoping additional Labour MPs will defect to them, and possibly some Tories and/or Lib Dems as well?

An 8th Labour MP joined up due to the anti-Semitism stuff, and then 3 Conservative MPs signed on this morning.

I guess if they peel a few more off the government might fall? I don't really know how any of this works or what it means. Seems complicated.

AOC and her BF and her Chief of Staff probably did some illegal campaign finance maneuvering

Do you listen to his entire 3 hour or however long it is podcast? I was only able to do like 15 minutes at a stretch, and that was before Trump was elected. Couldn't imagine listening to him now.

Yeah....you don't tell the dumbest person in the group and the one who can't keep his mouth shut the illegal stuff you are doing. I do think that is the most likely answer.

Where ‘useful idiot’ is certainly in play, it is somewhat worse to be so driven by greed and hubris that you have no idea because of arrogant self denial.

That said, have you seriously been listening to AJ for some reason?

Lol, my post “got stuck” and showed up after you clarified. I was thinking an intervention was appropriate.

SCOTUS finds for civil forfeiture defendant in a decision that will seemingly curtail (if not eliminate) that ridiculous practice.
