I know this much: had Clinton been elected she would have been impeached by the House, probably repeatedly, and the 2018 elections would have been a bloodbath for Dems.

One way or the other, ever since Newt Gingrich's rise to power, the GOP has been hellbent on making the Federal government as dysfunctional as possible.

Apparently we got a stop work order. I'm guessing they're going to wait until 3:45 to tell us ... Maybe they're be nice enough to wait until Tuesday so we can at least get paid for the holiday.

Trump calls Cohen a liar after bombshell BuzzFeed report

Shocked, I am just shocked.

Isn't part of the story that Bob got this from 8 - 10 people, then backed Cohen into a corner for an admission.

Now this would be a huge problem, if true

"In the middle of the night, the State Department's Diplomatic Security Service provided an updated threat assessment detailing that the President announcing this sensitive travel had significantly increased the danger to the delegation and to the troops, security, and other officials supporting the trip," Pelosi spokesman Drew Hammill said. "This morning, we learned that the administration had leaked the commercial travel plans as well."

NY Times, despite Trump's complaints, has been very Trump friendly. Look at the Op Ed page. It's gotten to be pretty worthless over the years. One worst offenders of "both siderism" and "but her e-mails".

You’re right, but I think the issue here is more just that the NYT is snobby and is doesn’t want to report stories (not even that they’re true, just that other news orgs have reported) they haven’t independently verified.

It's also like right below the digital fold in 'Democrats Call for Inquiry Into Report That Trump Directed Cohen to Lie'. So it's not a full repackaging of Buzzfeed's piece, which would be bad (and ironic i guess), but reporting on reactions to the piece.

IT WOULD BE rather embarrassing for Donald Trump at this point if Robert Mueller were to declare that the president isn’t an agent of Russian intelligence.

THE PATTERN OF his pro-Putin, pro-Russia, anti-FBI, anti-intelligence community actions are so one-sided, and the lies and obfuscation surrounding every single Russian meeting and conversation are so consistent, that if this president isn’t actually hiding a massive conspiracy, it means the alternative is worse: America elected a chief executive so oblivious to geopolitics, so self-centered and personally insecure, so naturally predisposed to undermine democratic institutions and coddle authoritarians, and so terrible a manager and leader, that he cluelessly surrounded himself with crooks, grifters, and agents of foreign powers, compromising the national security of the US government and undermining 75 years of critical foreign alliances, just to satiate his own ego.

In short, we’ve reached a point in the Mueller probe where there are only two scenarios left: Either the president is compromised by the Russian government and has been working covertly to cooperate with Vladimir Putin after Russia helped win him the 2016 election—or Trump will go down in history as the world’s most famous “useful idiot,” as communists used to call those who could be co-opted to the cause without realizing it.

Its a brick makers job program (or a money laundering opportunity for the mob owned brick business). Seriously, why did he want it made of beautiful concrete? (mob ties) Now the slide to American steel ain't because its real, but because the cost of US Steel is so disproportionately high that it buys votes and propos up the steel is back story.

Arlington, Va. – The ongoing government shutdown is costing federal contractors an estimated $1.5 billion a week in lost revenue, according to the Arlington-based Professional Services Council (PSC), which represents nearly 400 government technology and professional services companies. David Berteau, the president and CEO of the PSC, said that government contracting employees in the “tens of thousands” have so far either been laid off or sidelined because of the four-week-old situation. “Contractors are feeling more and more impact,” said Berteau. ”Each day, we’re getting notices of stop-work orders from our member companies.” And unlike previous shutdowns, Berteau said the current standoff could result in long-term hardships for some contractors. “If this continues a lot longer, we’ll see a lot of companies shut their doors because they don’t have a line of credit available,” he said.

From the fine print: Faux bricks will be sent to the offices of Chuck Schumer or Nancy Pelosi.

Not even real bricks. Also, probably made in China.

Per CNN "Former" N. Korea spy chief spends 90 minutes in the Oval. What did Chuck and Nancy get to put 800K Feds and at least as many contractors back to work? About 5 minutes? Curious.

Trump Make America Great Again Committee (“TMAGAC”) is a joint fundraising committee composed of Donald J. Trump for President, Inc. (“DJTP”) and the Republican National Committee (“RNC”).

Contributions to TMAGAC or any member committee are not deductible for federal income tax purposes. Contributions to TMAGAC are subject to federal contribution limits and prohibitions. Federal law requires us to collect and report the name, mailing address, occupation, and employer of each contributor whose contributions aggregate in excess of $200 in a calendar year (RNC) or election cycle (DJTP).

Contributions made by an Individual or Federal Non-multicandidate Political Committee (Multicandidate PAC amounts in parentheses) shall be allocated according to the following formula:

75% of each contribution to DJTP, to be designated toward either its 2020 primary (which shall be the default) or 2020 general election account, up to a maximum of $2,700 ($5,000) per account. 25% of each contribution to the RNC’s Operating account, up to a maximum of $33,900 ($15,000).

Notwithstanding this allocation formula, a contributor may designate a contribution for a specific participant or participants. In addition, the allocation formula may change if any contribution would exceed applicable contribution limits.

By providing your phone number, you are consenting to receive calls and SMS/MMS messages, including autodialed and automated calls and texts, to that number from each of the participating committees in the Trump Make America Great Again Committee, Donald J. Trump for President Inc. and the Republican National Committee. Msg & data rates may apply. Participating committees’ terms & conditions/privacy policies apply: http://88022-info.com/ (DJTP); http://80810-info.com/ (RNC).

Neither printed nor produced at government expense.

Faux bricks will be sent to the offices of Chuck Schumer or Nancy Pelosi.

If you are going to buy a brick you likely are fine with it being a campaign stunt.

Dems should do a similar campaign to send bricks to Trump. After all, he’s the one who wants to build the wall. Call it: “Send a brick to a prick.”

So about that much needed wall that is keeping 800,000 federal employees in bread lines:

The largest single group of asylum seekers ever to cross into the U.S. tunneled beneath the border wall near San Luis, Arizona, on Monday, voluntarily turning themselves into Customs and Border Protection, according to the agency. Migrants can be seen marching toward Border Patrol agents by the hundreds, according to video obtained by ABC News. Smugglers dug a series of seven holes, only a few feet long beneath the steel border fence, with hundreds going beneath the wall and a smaller number clambering over it, according to CBP.
