But I thought Mexico was paying for it.

You know, when people are all shocked about how things like this turn out to be scams (I know it makes me a bad person, but I have a hard time feeling bad for people who gave money to be educated by an entity known as "Trump University") what I'm shocked by is how easy it is to scam right wingers.

Why are you shocked? They tend to be poorly educated and therefore easily manipulated. That's why the GOP loves them so much.

I'm guessing many of these people have more formal education than you'd imagine. And those that aren't are all always going on about how "common sense" is more important that formal education and yet seem to lack even a modicum of it.

I do get how some might be prey for say an MLM--at least there's something tangible being offered in return. But these right wingers just hand money over for no reason at all.

Holy shit

In an astonishing departure from protocol, documents show that at the same time the requests were being made, Treasury officials were using their government email accounts to send messages back and forth with a network of private Hotmail and Gmail accounts set up by the Russians, rather than communicating through the secure network usually used to exchange information with other countries.

He may not sign it today, but he will sign it tomorrow.

Again, Trump has made a career of bluffing people into making better deals.

Trump treason
Trump witness tampering

Trump will sign the resolution when he sees the market activity.

The only thing g the Donald cannot do is cancel Christmas. He would like to, because it is not about him.

Glancing over at the Fox News website--it's quite possible that the Wall thing is intended to distract us from the Syria thing--there is in fact no mention of the Syria thing on the Fox News website. Over on Redstate, not a word either. CNN doesn't feature the story prominently. Neither does Drudge. It is being covered fairly prominently on Real Clear Politics, NY Times, and WaPo.

Interestingly, neither Drudge nor Fox News even mentions the stock market. Fox is continuing to cover the emotional support chicken though.

The idea of him being the nominee in 2020 does seem pretty ludicrous at the moment.

But as impossible as the situation may be it does not mean we don’t have genuine interests there which need to be safeguarded by all means possible, including diplomacy and a military presence. The fact that Putin is applauding the US decision to pull out is reason enough to know that withdrawal is against our interests.

Beyond protecting the Kurds, we do not have any reason to be there militarily. And that wasn't the reason we went there.

I don't think Trump will run in 2020. He'll make some statement that he'd rather go back to making money or whatever or that the job is beneath him and that he was never beat in a Presidential election or whatever. He'll pardon all his family members on the way out (but not any of the other people because loyalty only runs one way with him). I could see him trying to set up a scam where he resigns ahead of time and gets Pence to pardon him. But he has no shot of winning the election and maybe even winning the primary. Honestly, Trump's greatest threat has always been his absolute incompetence.

Just doing some last minute Christmas shopping for Vlad.

Officials throughout the Trump administration are bracing themselves for the President to make an announcement about the US presence in Afghanistan, similar to his declaration Wednesday that the US will withdraw the military from Syria, informed administration sources tell CNN.

The sources cautioned that President has not yet made a final decision, but officials are concerned and convinced that he might do so, and soon.
The US has about 14,000 troops in Afghanistan, most of which are present as part of a larger NATO-led mission to train, advise and assist Afghan forces. Any withdrawal would be complicated by the fact that the United States is part of NATO's Resolute Support mission

Putin sees the writing on the wall for Trump and told him it was time to speed up the payback.
