Because the GOP House included funding in their new bill and the Senate needs Dem support to pass it.

Nevermind the fact that Dems, along with their GOP colleagues in the Senate, already passed a CR that Trump pledged to support.

You must realize that McConnell likely would have Garland'd any nominee to replace her if she had retired during the last six years of Obama's presidency. In hindsight it would have been best for her to retire prior to 2011 but it is not uncommon for SC justices to serve into their 80s.
