I can’t believe the Syria announcement was a video he posted. Have a really crappy one at that. Do you shoot the damn thing with his phone?

I also wonder how he feels about the Pentagon statement that Isis has not been defeated.

I also have no idea what to make of Lindsay Graham anymore. He got off the short bus with Saudi Arabia and MBS I suppose, but he’s not hold any punches with Syria. His first announcement I thought were pretty stringent for the guy he seems to have become, but then the comment he made on the Senate floor or next level.

I do think it’s fair to say that it is high time to figure out how to better manage our military engagements, but making random announcement about our moves not only leaves the vacuum, it really puts the whole region in disarray. I guess maybe it’s time for the Middle East to feel a little bit of what Donald’s been dealing at home and with our allies.

I'm going to guess right now that it's Rosneft. This will be the bribe to end all bribes.

I'm going with Cambridge Analytica and Alfa Bank as a second guess

Alfa Bank is my 3rd choice. I don't thing Cambridge is owned by a foreign government, so I don't think it's them. No need to seal off a whole floor of a courthouse for them.

My second choice is a Qatar company. I forget the name. Some of their moves coincided with moves from the Saudis and Kushner's actions. They are also involved with Rosnef.

Crazy times.

CA is a British owned company, foreign company doesnt mean foreign govt owned company

but yes lots of bad foreign actors tied to Trump

There is no objective. There is no end game. This is whack a mole and we were supposed to be there in a cooperating and assistance capacity. There is no reason to remain. We shouldn't have gone in the first place.

If our goal is 'defeating' ISIL, they've lost most of their caliphate. It's now largely a policing action.

Other than defeating ISIS, countering Soviet and Iranian hegemony, supporting the Syrian rebels and working against Assad and his human rights abuses, supporting the Kurds and helping to keep terrorists out of Israel I can’t think of a single reason for a US presence in Syria, can you?

Are we actually accomplishing this? Assad has won. We are working with him at this point. Rojava is succeeding but it is far beyond our mission to ensure their sovereignty. There are simply too many conflicting allegiances for anything to be solved with a military presence. If we had a competent POTUS, Secretary of State, a functioning State Department, UN delegation, etc etc etc but we don't. This really is not a winning situation and it will take a generation or more of a coordinated diplomacy to fix, which is something we don't do.

I think "measuring" the caliphate is a losing option. There are over 3000 ISIS fighters in Syria. Recently they kill 700 "prisoners". The caliphate concept was a sales promotion, but the threat is simply in hibernation.

Abandoning the Kurds is something that will likely haunt us in that region.

She told pro choice activists to shut up. Then she dropped white working class as a real phrase. Then she said it's all about economics but she doesn't have any economic agenda that would really change anything.

Lots of stuff will and is haunting us. We broke the region 15 years ago and there's no going back. There's no putting it back in the bottle. But we can't just continue to use our military in this manner.

I had read that it was actually a foreign OWNED company, but maybe that's incorrect. I still don't think you need to shut down a floor of a courthouse for them since they've already been in the news. Unless Trump had direct contact with them.

I'm hoping Mueller takes down his kids next. Fuck that whole family.

Brian Fitzpatrick had a opinion piece in the Inky yesterday.

tl:dr: different areas of the country have different 'livable wages.' and that he'd rather see livable wage than minimum wage used as a term instead. outside of that he had no opinions. what a useless newspaper.

Kilmeade and Trump having a spat. On air, and via twitter over ISIS being defeated. I guess when he tweets that ISIS is a local Russian enemy he has conceded influence in the region to the Russians.

I did forget about the most bizarre part of Trump's video where he points to the sky and say “And that’s the way they want it.” as part of his reasoning for ordering the departure from Syria Double Time.
