I know some of you either live in or have lived in the DC area so I have a travel question for ya. I am driving down to Glen Allen, VA for a soccer tourney next weekend and may end up heading through the DC area around rush hour; I'd rather not do that given everything I have heard about traffic there, especially at that time. Rather than the typical 95 South route, I was considering taking the Chesapeake Bay Bridge and then 50 West to 495 South. I figured that would help me cut out Baltimore and then go around DC. Per Google maps, it adds 15 minutes of drive time but it might be worth it.

Thoughts?

I assume you mean Friday night?

you'll still hit the traffic exiting DC on 495 south Route 50 can also be a nightmare but you're heading into the city at that time

I'll yield to gr on this since he lives there and it's been a while for me

I'll also point out that when I drove to Florida in 09' the traffic after DC on 95 south was worse at 7pm on a Friday than it was on the Beltway for whatever strange reason

There are 15 obits in the paper today. One shares my maternal grandmother’s name and one shares my paternal grandmother’s name. (both my grandmothers were already deceased bucky)

Dress like a funeral to commemorate the death of white people?

Think there's some confusion since March is Women's History Month. The idea is to celebrate one the most versatile and flattering color selections in any woman's wardrobe.

Someone has been stealing the free paper I get each week, I think. The editorials were gold.

Do this on a Friday every February. Beltway is cake compared to this. We ended paying out the ass this year for the ezpass express lanes.

Those ezpass express lanes are some bullshit. Maybe a year or two ago I went that way and hopped on that because the main road was jammed and then like a mile later the express lanes jammed up as well. Wound up paying like $20 for the privilege of sitting in the same traffic as the free lanes.

Worked out good for me this year. Wasn't my car so I wasn't paying the ezpass lol. We saved an hour this year which is nice in a 20 hour drive straight through.
