10% now for out-of-pocket medical expenses. But HSAa and FSAs use a loophole (OK, maybe not really a loophole per se, but explicit tax code) to make their contributions non-taxable. Along with health insurance premiums, too.

$ devoted to HSAs is never taxed - not when contributed; not while accumulating (you can invest that dough, & earn interest on it, etc - no taxes on the growth); and not when it's distributed for qualifying purposes (namely health treatment spending of various kinds).

It's not a loophole, it's a feature.

Pretty sure no other American economic phenomenon gets this treatment
Yes, but in a double utley you can put your utley on top they other guy's utley, and you're the winner. (Swish)

Yes, plus property taxes will be capped at $10,000.

if you know you spend xx amount of money in health care each year then you should be putting at least that into your HSA.

Energy Secretary Rick Perry suggested Thursday that expanding the use of fossil fuels could help prevent sexual assault.

Speaking during an energy policy discussion about energy policy with “Meet the Press” host Chuck Todd and Axios CEO and founder Jim VandeHei, Perry discussed his recent trip to Africa. He said a young girl told him that energy is important to her because she often reads by the light of a fire with toxic fumes.

"But also from the standpoint of sexual assault,” Perry said. “When the lights are on, when you have light that shines, the righteousness, if you will on those types of acts.”

guys, my point is this new tax plan will possibly change things. Or would it be too late for them to change things for year 2018 now anyway?

It sucks that only light produced from fossil fuels can prevent sexual assault. Africa has a ton of sunlight that could solar power lights if only it would work against the assault issue, as well.
