The man is censoring my posts! I know I posted this last night in response to cballs, but CENTCOM officials have stated they are unsure why the WH made that statement. So either the WH has some information it is not sharing with Central Command (which can either be bad or solid intel) or they're just making shit up.

Amazing how quiet GOP voices are about the deficit reduction prediction from CBO, shouldn't it be one of their stronger talking points? As I recall they were pretty vocal about Obamacare raising the deficit

I think some figures in the perceived LIBRUL media go out of their way to prove their neutrality. Jake Tapper retweets a lot of weird anti-Obama administration things sometimes to draw some loose connection/meet the bothsideism quota. Jeff Zucker (President of CNN) seems like a douche, so it could be a directive.

Tapper's generally fair. His criticisms largely extend to the Obama admin's lack of transparency and increased prosecution of (real) leakers. Far cry from giving an unchecked platform to avik roy, ross douthat, and charles krauthammer like the NYT.

I'm basing my off-the-cuff assessment of Zucker based on his quote on why he gives douchenozzles like Jeffrey Lord constant airtime.

I agree, and most of his gripes against the Obama administration are fair and accurate, but there are sometimes he retweets things that give me pause. I was trying to find the most recent example. It involved someone replying to Ben Rhodes. The basic gist was Ben Rhodes combating that Pres. Obama did nothing re: Russia and someone mocking that as a weak response. That might be valid, but it seems like a lukewarm take to retweet if you're someone of Jake's stature.

Their CEO has been in DC a good bit. Meetings at the WH, getting a good bit of press, etc. All I can see is some stability in having some plan over having dread of getting stuck with a bag of nothing if the insurer sell policies then loses assistance from ACA placing them squarely in a losing position. That would be good for the business no matter how shitty it is for its customers. If the corporate tax deduction for executive pay is still in the senate bill, well then you can point to the direct payoff to the insurance execs (I am not sure if it is or is not).

That's better than sharing bad/unvetted intel, probably. If it was bad intel, then that would be another weapon for bad actors to use, feed Trump some falsehood that they know he will release. Not that him just bullshitting precludes that.

This takes out the historical context that Clinton was experimenting with on-air press briefings which I believe were a first, and that later became a staple of his administration. A WSJ Bureau chief said as much, so if Jake retweets that, my one-man crusade will be for naught.

I think that Paul folds, and falls in line. That is just who he is to me.

I love that the story line is that if it does not get done that they will have to work with Pelosi. That is from Senator Turtleman to motivate the troops. Its tough being owned by the WH. (Mitch McConnell's very scary message that the GOP would be forced to work with Chuck Schumer for the <gasp> good of the American people)
