Remember Bowling Green

This plaque has been placed at the site of the unreported Bowling Green Massacre, let us never forget these named heroes of that fabled day.

our children is learning in suburban Houston:
In an email to KPRC Channel 2, a student who witnessed the incident but asked to remain anonymous said students were shouting "Heil Hitler" and "Heil Trump. The student also said it was at least 70 or so people and, "It was pretty terrifying."

The photos were taken on Tuesday, picture day for the senior class. One photo was supposed to be serious, the second was supposed to be funny.

another good move for liberals and the nation:
At 9 a.m. Pacific time, Trump will sign an executive order directing the Treasury secretary to consult with regulators about what needs to be done to fix the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act and report back within “a relatively short period of time,” the official said

Trump administration officials believe that the law “in many respects was a piece of massive government overreach,” the official said. “Some of the rules may have even been unconstitutional, creating new agencies that don’t actually protect consumers.”

That was a clear reference to the consumer bureau, which Republicans have complained has too much power and restricts consumers’ access to credit.

The agency has been praised by Democrats and consumer advocates for cracking down on abuses by financial firms. It was a key player in the $185-million settlement that Wells Fargo & Co. agreed to pay last year for the creation of as many as 2 million accounts without customer authorization.

The new restrictions on retirement advisors were set to start being phased in on April 10. Known as the fiduciary rule, it requires investment brokers who handle retirement funds to put their clients' interests ahead of other factors, such as their own compensation or company profits.

The Labor Department rule was designed to prevent consumers from being steered toward IRAs and other retirement investments with higher fees or lower returns that benefit the advisors recommending or selling them.

someone let me know when we've hit rock bottom so we can really take it to the neoliberals

Help me understand the intent/end result of the broad religious exemptions. Private/for profit entities can deny services on the grounds of religious morals? So Chick-Fil-a could deny service to a LGBT person because Religion?

Protect Ruth? No no no, she'll protect YOU:
In the middle of all the Wednesday fretting, a Ginsburg sighting! She took to the stage for a livestreamed Q&A at Virginia Military Institute. She wore a gray suit, matching gray gloves, and a lace jabot, as has become her trademark. A questioner asked about her health.

She regularly does push-ups, she told the crowd, as well as situps and “something called a plank.” She can do more than 20 push-ups. She does the full push-ups, not the knee variation. She has a personal trainer. This personal trainer also now works with Justices Elena Kagan and Stephen G. Breyer, too. “He does his best to keep us all in shape,” Ginsburg reports.

PROTECT THAT TRAINER

Thought the South Bend mayor Pete Buttigieg, who's running for DNC chair, was awesome on Pod Saves America

yes.

or fire an employee. or deny health insurance. a 'closely held' corp has religious rights!

29 states already allow a lot of this stuff and many don't realize it.

Yeah man, I think he's smart. Him and Sally Boynton Brown from Idaho are both good.

i think Ellison should stay in Congress and run for that leadership and I think Perez should run for governor of Maryland in 2018. STAY AWAY FROM THE DNC AND LEAVE IT TO AN UNKNOWN

Agree on both those two---

is it possible to have some sort of council of elders instead of one person in charge? It would be good to have a few fresh voices leading the party in that regard. Especially ones from Indiana, Idaho, and Minnesota.

yes, i've heard hour long interviews with Ellison, Perez, Brown, etc (i'm cool) and I'm not sure I get his message. his message is better tuned for governing. I'm not sure I get Ellison's either. This chair isn't about creating policy, it's about allocating funds and people and creating a message.

I understand the current fad for anxiety that people in Bumfuckania need to be coddled more, because the election was "lost", but demographics do still count for something. Flipping political strategy/policy completely on its head in the aftermath of the "success" of a 1,000,000 to 1 process error feels like it would be an overreaction.

Yeah, I know, I'm wrong about everything because a peculiarly maldistributed sufficient minority of voters in my country swallowed the torrent of reeking bullshit from the imbecile they ushered into the White House - and is asking for seconds.

yeah but we are going to need to start winning back state houses and all that too. so i think at least optically it is important to have voices from some of those places.
