At least from a mortgage perspective it has been a disaster, can't speak to the other parts of it. The amount of dumb regulations we have to go through in the mortgage industry to "protect" the consumers is insane, and it doesn't do anything for them.

That's what my parents did, if it hadn't worked out here they had no contingency plan. My dad was just going to come back broke and then figure it out from there. People risk everything just to have a chance to make a life here
