I just clicked on 5 different shows under "HBO Series" and I would have to pay for all of them?

That's how much all the "theater" movies are when they get to the rental sites

When I lived in state college, some friends and I made a film festival of just our own stupid movies. They were all pretty bad, but it was a lot of fun getting together to watch them. The last year we were going to have it, I went back and forth between making two movies. We ended up not having the festival that last year, so I never made either movie, but both are mostly written in my head.

One of the possibilities was a movie called "Scooby Doo, 2032." It was the old gang from the original series, but it's the year 2032 and they are all in an old folks home. Scooby is dead, but he is kept in an urn and Shaggy carries him everywhere. But then the urn is stolen because it turns out the urn (and a few other urns disappearing at the old folks home) is a priceless vase. The owner of the old folks home dresses up as a ghost to try to scare people away from the home and steal the vases. Classic Scooby Doo storyline, except with meddling old people instead of meddling kids. The emotional undercurrent is Shaggy's inability to let go of Scooby and move on. He does move on in the last scene.

I still kinda want to make the movie. It's been in my head for 20+ years. I'm sure it would be stupid, but it would be fun to watch with the old gang.

I really don't mind my neighbors shoooting off fireworks.

I don't mind it either. Pretty crazy how many people flip their lid over it though.

Yeah I don’t get the fireworks hate either. If someone is shooting off mortars we’ll all go outside and watch. The firehouse by my house does a display occasionally and we can see it from our front yard. People bitch about it endlessly on our local message board though, yet no one says a word about all of the guns shooting and thermite blasts all day. But god forbid someone shoots an aerial firework at dusk...

one of the local schools suffered a lot of damage from them.

it's not really safe to have with this many people living so close. they're doing them from their roof or in the middle of a street of 50 homes.

There are like 800 threads about it on my nextdoor page right now.

Interestingly, the dog I had growing up was a skittish little guy who was afraid of just about everything, but fireworks never really seemed to phase him.

I live in a pretty populated area, so if my kids were still at the age where it would affect their sleep, I'd be pissed. The don't set them off at dusk around here, i'ts like 10-11.

We live the middle of nowhere, unless our next door neighbors are the ones shooting them off, we don’t always hear it.

I agree for the most part. Neighbors are considerate overall usually posting a heads up on the FB group and finishing at a reasonable time. My favorite neighbor actually called Thursday and essentially asked my permission for tonight.

Scale and time are my only issues. People absolutely mess with stuff too big for conditions and environment. Last night someone close was shooting off huge shit between 1 and 2 am.

Guess I've been lucky none of my dogs ever freaked out over fireworks, thunder, etc.

I don't believe she didn't know about it. And even if she didn't, that still doesn't reflect well on her. There have also been tons of stories over the years from many people about how horrible she apparently is. Brad Garrett and Lea Thompson the latest to confirm that.
