I never liked Van Halen either. It would hardly shock me to learn EVH was an ass (and the fact that he though he could replace David Lee Roth with Sammy Hagar was kinda dumb) but he was a very good and at times even interesting guitar player.

VH hasn't even really aged well--rough contemporary peers like AC/DC and even Journey (who I really dislike) seem to be heard a lot more today.

AC/DC and VH are pretty comparable. I think Eddie had more charisma though than Angus (at least during the DLR years). Also I think VH had a more familiar vibe since they weer from the US.

i occasionally partake. weed should not be a crime. but damn, the smell. it smells great if you know you're going to smoke it, but if you're not hitting it, it smells awful. you go to states where it's not only legal but extremely accessible, and you smell it everywhere.

also think you should be required to have a drug license, much like a drivers license to do drugs. you have to take a test and pass. then if you get caught doing stupid shit because you're on them or because of them, you can get points that leads to a suspension or revocation of the privilege. the real good stuff like lsd, pcp, and dmt would require a special drug license. almost like a cdl. you would need to go to a registered school for training. you really only want the professionals dealing with those.
