Star Wars movie outings are a good uncle Christmas present, right? At least it's better than gift cards. Buying presents for 15 nieces and nephews is a pain in the ass.

Youngest is 11. Need to confer with parents just to organize schedules. Taking one batch on Sunday night and still in the process of schedule the second.

Looks like 2nd batch will be afternoon Christmas Eve. Got a nice new theatre with reclining seats 15 minutes away.

Watching Return of the Jedi. Def the worst, but still enjoyable. So many good moments.

Never understood the idea that star wars was so nerdy. It's an action movie that is the 2nd or 3rd most popular movie of all time

Yeah. We all love it, but it is nerdy. There are so many media things with it

I dunno. There are certainly people -- a heck of a lot -- who are nerdy about Star Wars. But the movies themselves are pretty boilerplate action fare, albeit set in space. The original trilogy were just very well executed and had wide appeal.

Sure, people quote the movie verbatim and stuff, but people do that with things like Godfather and I wouldn't consider that nerdy. Some things just become part of the cultural zeitgeist.
