Really trying to let this one, and the last three seasons, really, soak in.

Fucking love this squad.

Jumped out of my chair on the Howard hit and then kind of felt like an idiot for a second because of how underwhelmed the announcer was and the way the camera panned to the ball.

But hey, whatever, I provided my own sound.

I love, love reporting where the writer just gets out of the way and becomes a vehicle for stuff like this:

“I really feel it’s the Brad Lidge from last year,” he said, twisting his face to imitate Lidge’s fierce mound stare. “He was so confident on the mound. Now we’re pitching. We tried to force it before, but now it’s like—” after searching for the perfect word, the catcher just snapped his fingers and smiled.

For the most part, Rockies' fans are harmless. We weren't hassled at any point during the game, even when the Rockies took the lead.

What's annoying about the Rockies is the mind-numbing entertainment program that plays the same songs (Hey Baby-crap) every single game, has the same stupid contests every single game, and basically makes the Rockies' organization look like a second-rate organization every time you go to a game.

If anything, the fans can be blamed for going along with the stupid "Tulo" chants and other routines put forth by the Rockies' marketing/game-day entertainment department. They need to rise up and demand to be treated as a major league fanbase, although I'm not sure that will happen anytime soon.

Bottom-line is they're not worth the energy to despise, even with this recycled Rocktober crap. Hopefully for CO, the Phillies put that BS to bed for good.

I still find Helton's 6th inning AB insane. Walks on 4 pitches and only one was even close to being out of the strike zone.

Considering they were facing the WFCs, could you blame them?

That's all that Helton is anymore - a singles hitter who still walks alot and who plays good defense. This guy's power decline has been dramatic, humidor or no humidor.

here is my game 4 experience:

today was awesome. ate at this delicious place called snooze's. then checked out red rocks which was so awesome. came back and got ready for the game.

it was much quicker getting in this one. there were hundreds of people trying to sell their tickets. me and my buddy stood behind what would be section 110 on CBP for five innings all the while smooth talking this really nice ticket checker guy for the section. we saw that he was giving people seats in his section even though they did not have tickets for those seats. we asked him if he could let us sit there and he did. so our rockpile tickets got upgraded to 100 level. it was awesome.

you all saw the game. it was too absurd to handle there. im jumping up and down when the phils do something good especially the 9th inning and rockie fans are excited but not nearly as much if this game were happening in CBP. their fans just dont know much about baseball minus a few guys we met.

after the win we rushed over toe stand behind the visitors dugout and cheered on the guys. it was real fun being there with 70 or so other phils fans thanking our heroes.

There's a decent chance we high fived and/or hugged by the dugout.

FWIW, in the four games I attended in Colorado (two last year versus the Brewers and two earlier this season versus the Phillies), I got the general impression that Rockies fans were okay. Seemed like nice people, although definitely more of football fans than baseball fans. If the Rockies continue their success and keep some of these players, I could see it developing into a nice fan base. I'd compare my feelings towards them after this series as "mild annoyance," which is similar to how I felt towards Brewers fans after the NLDS last season. My annoyance towards Brewers fans died out within a couple of weeks, so I'd assume the same with Rockies fans. I'm still annoyed with Rays fans and I still really dislike Dodgers fans.

Forgivable since the umpire wasn't really in position to see it (IIRC, the ump was on the shortstop side of the infield grass, in position to call a play at 2B). What isn't forgivable is the broadcasters not even mentioning it, considering how they harped about the Utley IF single yesterday.

2nd time in postseason history (1903), that a team trailed by multiple runs, was one out from losing, and then won the game to clinch a series. Other game was yesterday's Angels/Red Sox game.

How ridiculous is that
