Listening to the replay on Gameday audio. I want to hear Anderson bemoaning the momentum shift in the 8th and Franke's call of the 9th.

I love the Franzke & L.A. combo. Great stuff!

that would be a pretty weak interference call, and I'm not even sure it would be one since Utley may have already had the ball in his possession when Fowler jumped over him.

Also, he never touched him:

You wouldn't believe how many times I clicked the 'start' button for that 'video clip'

:-D

I agree, the 'touch' was light - but I want to see about 3 frames further on than your jpg shows. It looked like Fowler's left hand swung back & ever-so-slightly grazed utley's throwing shoulder.

& yest I'm still hung up over the zapruder film too
Yes, but in a double utley you can put your utley on top they other guy's utley, and you're the winner. (Swish)

philliesphhan wrote:Interference calls in general can be pretty stupid. The only wording in the rulebook is you can't hinder a fielder from making a play on a batted ball. I'd say jumping over him would qualify, but I imagine it's also up to the umpire's interpretation.

I need Bucky's ruling on this.

Yep, it's umpire's discretion basically. Contact does not have to happen for interference to be ruled; accordingly, contact in and of itself does not constitute interference.

you can watch the whole thing on MLB.com. he never touched him with the left hand. Schlong maybe, but no hand
you sure do seem to have a lot of time on your hands to be on this forum? Do you have a job? Are you a shut-in?

Actually that's what I thought from the start, but I'ma getting rusty and didn't want to make a misstatement. I had to do some research to corroborate myself.
