• An official of a team that is tracking Roy Halladay's situation said the price for Toronto's ace basically has not come down from the summer, even though the acquiring team would be guaranteed of getting Halladay for only one season instead of almost 1 1/2. The Blue Jays have seemed to scare off teams at the winter meetings, but it should be noted that Minnesota shot high with Johan Santana two years ago and wound up with a much lesser package in the end.

The Dodgers have been speaking to Toronto about acquiring Roy Halladay, Dodgers GM Ned Colletti confirmed Tuesday to Ken Gurnick of MLB.com.
Colletti said that no headway has been made on Halladay, however, nor on three other pitchers the club is targeting. In November, word was that Halladay might be shipped to Los Angeles for Chad Billingsley, talk that Colletti squashed. With the obvious financial trouble the club is in, Halladay may be priced out of their range in both current and future salary.
