There should be. JPR knows he's gotta deal Roy now and he also knows we have the best stuff to get it done.

Either way I'm glad we aren't playing his games

I'm much more into Lee as a lever to negotiate for Halladay than as an answer in his own right.

Please explain to me why he's a perfectly fine alternative, other than lower price/lower salary.

IF you could resign him obviously age is a factor there. But he's definitely a cut below Halladay and anyone will tell you that. But I would still be thrilled if we somehow ended up with Lee and not Halladay

Hes a real good SP, hes much younger and hes much cheaper.

The single biggest negative with him is that hes an extreme flyball pitcher. So basically you'd be getting another Cole Hamels.

He still probably would be our best pitcher and we might not have to trade Drabek and Brown for him (hopefully just one).

Or Eric Milton :P

But hey Lee has a Cy Young under his belt too. Only issue might be the lefty thing, especially if we don't have to give up Happ for him.

I'd be happy to get him. But, there's a reason they call him "Plan B" Lee.

there are a lot more LH batters in baseball than RH batters. If anything, its an advantage

I'll say again, hedging on getting Cliff Lee because the rotation would be too left-handed is like turning down a date with Natalie Portman because you're sick of dating brunettes.

Brain fart. I forgot Pedro was a righty and that we actually have him on our team. Post retracted.

Agree, except he's not much younger than Halladay. They're only like 15 months apart.

I don't like Cliff Lee. He doesn't miss many bats, and has been far too inconsistent in his career to be labeled an ace.
