What's with the "OMG Drabek is a head case" meme I heard on WIP this morning? What is it based on? And yeah, I said meme. Meme.
you sure do seem to have a lot of time on your hands to be on this forum? Do you have a job? Are you a shut-in?

That was one of the knocks when they drafted him. He most likely was acting like a normal 17 year old

google "drabek head case"
Why not just go storm Normandy and get shot in the face while you're at it
Why not get a plumbing license and run around high on shrooms stealing peoples' pocket change

I just only heard that he had "attitude problems". I don't think he did anything specific, but I could be wrong

mikey miss said that when he was pulled out of his 2nd to last start (which wasn't a good start), he acted up in the dugout, which seemed to included cursing and throwing stuff. no one's ever done that before in the majors, so no one's sure how the clubhouse can withstand.

I think he has an underage drinking citation on his record, but I'm not sure.

Again, no other prospect has ever committed such a fiendish crime.

jeffs2fd - i don't remember what you said, actually, but it had something to do with carrasco and taylor and how the former would prolly be better to hold onto than the latter because the former's value was diminished and while it didn't say that the latter's was overstated i maybe inferred as much and figured it worthwhile to voice my position on this internet baseball forum. i'm a bottom line kind of guy, a villanovan, and at the bottom line would rather have taylor than carrasco. the sentiment most dear to me, though, is that of peace. i do not want to fight either. in fact, i remember how anxious i was when disco stu and jemagee were fighting in a random thoughts thread and i PM'd the latter to see if it was a gag and he said no and that he hated the former but not enough to spill his panda express. i come from a broken home and crave calm.

woody- two street. that's straight.

If you look at Happ's starts game by game, most of his best games are against bad teams. And he's had some clunkers against good teams.

Here's all his starts:

opponent/earned runs/IP
@NYY 2 6.0
WSH 2 6.0
@SD 0 7.0
@NYM 4 5.1
BOS 5 5.2
BAL 2 6.0
@TOR 0 9.0
@ATL 2 7.0
CIN 3 7.0
PIT 1 7.0
@FLA 0 7.0

I'd hate to lose him but if they can use him in place of Drabek, it's probably a good move. I'd say give them Brown, Happ, and then some lesser prospect(s)

I think this Happ in lieu of Drabek is great news. My one rule with this Halladay stuff is that Toronto can have one of our "Big 3" -- Drabek, Brown or Taylor. No more.

Someone could make the argument that Drabek will be the Happ of 2010/11 but better. So what are we losing in giving up Happ? If you can do it with Happ and not Drabek I'd do virtually any of the deals proposed on this board.

It's too bad Toronto has those albatross outfielders; would love Taylor to be a/the major piece

Could we maybe trade him somewhere else to recoup some of what we give to Toronto

Happ has to goes anyway because they need room for both Halladay and Pedro in the rotation. And really......where is Taylor or Donald going to play for this team anyway? I doubt they will be moving Werth or Victorino anytime soon to make room for Taylor and Rollins ain't going anywhere soon. This trade is such a no-brainer, unless the Phillies like having prospects and young players around just to have them and gloat about them.

If this fails I'll blame every thing on Montgomery, and I have a sneaky suspicion it'll really be about the money although they don't want to admit it with all their sellouts.
I would rather see you lose than win myself
