My bizarre Roy Halladay obsession

I think there needs to be a pick list, not an all. I am sure that the Jays would like to have us trade Reading to them for King Roy. It is a desperate market for a top arm, but that is too much.

I would do that deal. I could not care less about Donald. I like Happ, but it's not like he's irreplacable. Of course you don't want to trade Drabek, but I would if I had to.
I know what you're asking yourself and the answer is yes. I have a nick name for my penis. Its called the Octagon, but I also nick named my testes - my left one is James Westfall and my right one is Doctor Kenneth Noisewater.

I love Drabek and would hate to lose him, but I'd do that deal too. The loss of Drabek is greatly mitigated by the fact that they don't have to trade Taylor, Brown, or Knapp, and let's face it -- Halladay is the pitcher you dream Drabek might become.

Yeah. If Drabek turns out to be a Halladay deal-breaker, the scouts better be damn well foaming at the mouth about him.

And when the Jays can't afford Drabek anymore, get him then

I hope we work out an extension if Drabek is involved.

I posted this on another board, but, to the people that don't want the Phillies to trade away prospects, what do you expect them to do within the next two years when, at the very least, Kendrick, Carrasco, Carpenter, Bastardo, Worley, Savery, Stutes, Flande, and Drabek are ready to play with Hamels and Happ in the majors.

To my mind the key here is that the Phils actually have some depth in the farm system. I would hate to give up Happ and/or Drabek but, even if they do, there's still Carrasco, Knapp, Savery and others. If they have to give up Brown or Taylor, they get to keep the other. If they have to give up Marson, they still have d'Arnaud.

I would think with his job on the line (and it has been for a couple of seasons and this may be the breaking point) that some major league ready guys would be paramount over low A ball pitchers.

The part of me what wants to hang on to our prospects doesn't expect all those guys to start in 2011 but wants as big a pool as possible from which to develop a potential ace.

It would stink to lose a guy like Drabek but you are getting arguably the best pitcher in all of baseball in return. Who knows what will happen with Drabek down the road. We already know what Halladay is. Make the deal happen.

Finally have #3, 4, and 5 pitchers that don't suck?

he had a mild groin strain but he's healthy now

i thought it was the arm. groin strain is fine. i know the game after the DL stint he wasn't fantastic. was just curious.

but thinking about it. happ/drabek/donald i'd have to do it.

Ok, but there are 9 minor league guys I listed there. What do you do with the other 6? My point is that you can get Halladay, give up some prospects, have legitimate 1 and 1a starters, and still have #3, 4, and 5 pitchers that don't suck IMO.

Because all nine are likely to pan out, stay healthy, etc

You think all nine will pan out as MLB starters?
