Chris Brock, nobody remembers you, yet you wanted to pull "ballplayer rights" on the greatest broadcaster in the city of Philadelphia, and one of the all time greats in general. Harry the K is missed and loved by all. Nobody knows who Chris Brock was.

Scott Graham to be new voice of 'Inside the NFL'

"It was amazing. I'm honored, humbled and a little bit emotional, too," Graham said. "Harry was a very good friend. It's a nice transition. Let's put baseball and football play-by-play aside. He was among the very best there ever was with the voice and the emotion and finding exactly the right tone for what was written."

This season's premiere with James Brown, Cris Collinsworth, Phil Simms and Warren Sapp will air tomorrow on Showtime at 9 p.m.

I can't watch games with sound anymore, either I turn down the tv and listen to my gf streaming KTAOS off her laptop or I blast my own music. Those damned pretzel commercials have really driven home how much he is missed.

For the first time ever (for a variety of reasons, a being unprecedented success for the franchise) I am ready to listen to national announcers cover the Phils (even Joe Buck). Wheeler is now free to talk on and on and on and on with no Harry to give him the blessed silent treatment. All of this really hit home as I skimmed what seems to be a pretty excellent Sports Guy NFL picks column that mourns the passing of the former Bruins play-by-play guy:

One thing I don't understand about the current sports generation: Local announcers don't seem to matter as much. Maybe the best ones go national, or maybe so many games are televised it's impossible for anyone to stand out. Fred Cusick stood out. Sadly, he passed away this week at the age of 90. Like every other Boston fan, I heard the news and felt like someone punched me in the stomach. Other than Marv Albert, he's my favorite announcer ever. RIP.

they're all dying off Bill; I need to listen to more Merrill Reese, because he's pretty much all we have right now (I know the Sixers guy is good, but I'm no longer the basketball fan I was in high school). Franzke has potential but as long as blood flows through Muffin's veins he will carry on his fool's errand of living up to a legend. The book promotion on FOX kind of pissed me off too, fucking McCarver.

Part of me says, "that's really cool."

Another part of me says, "Ouch."

Tattoos aren't my thing. I love harry, but seeing his face looking at me every time I go to pick up a fork or wash my hair would kind of creep me out.

I wonder if he'll post a follow-up video. It's all red, irritated, and bloody in that video because it was just finished. In a few weeks, after the skin heals, it will look normal. It does appear to be an extremely good job though. It's not easy to tattoo a portrait of a person well.

Yes, some of those are good, some not so much. Really depends on what you're looking for. I stand by my original comment that you need to wait until after the irritation goes away before knowing for sure. However, having seen some terrible portraits on people, I still say this Harry one looks like it will be good.

The Angels set the bar pretty high with their Adenhart tribute/celebration. Hopefully our guys have something nice in store for Harry the K tonight.

Let's see, Adenhart died from a drunk driver, so they showered his jersey with alcohol. Harry died of atherosclerosis so ...

Anyone else notice that in last night's game some of the players (I specifically saw Utley and Howard) had some extra writing or markings on their "HK" patches?

It was in white and on Utley's there was something directly above the 'HK" and something below and to the right of it.

I freezed the screen to get a better look (and show my wife) but I could not make out what it was.

I wonder a)what it is and b) was last night its first appearance?

Here's a look at Utley, but from this pic it just looks like smudges.
