He actually voted for it, I guess because no one was getting a pricey medal out of it or something.

I know. That's what I was poking fun at.

Speaking of Harry K...
unfortunately, I missed the beginning stuff of the All Star Game (didn't get home until the top of the 1st). Did MLB do anything special for Harry K (even if just a mention)? If not, it's a shame.

God damn, I miss Harry more than ever.

Such a huge chunk of my childhood gone except for the memories.

That's part of what makes him so great. The memories will always be there because he was so unforgettable.

Reading Froggy Carfagno's section in the HK tribute book strengthens my dislike for ed wade. And rockets chris brock to the top of my list of most hated ex-phillies.

Froggy Carfagno wrote:One time when I was in there watching the game, a couple of players were in there. One was Chris Brock. Harry was on the air talking about the game and referred to something about what's going on in the back of the plane. Harry said, "In the back of the plane, we had fun. Remember this, Larry." And they were telling funny stories about what happened at the back of the plane. Chris Brock jumped up out of this chair and said, "What the heck's he talking about the back of the plane for? He shouldn't even be in the back of the plane. It's a privilege for him to sit back there. He should be up front with all the other support staff." Then he goes to Ed Wade, the general manager, and demands that he doesn't want Harry Kalas to sit on the back of the plane. Wade went to Kalas and told him he couldn't sit in the back of the plane any more, and Harry Kalas almost quit on the spot. He broke down and cried. A couple of road trips later, he was back in the back of the plane again, but that's a sad story. That's how spoiled and immature these ballplayers are.

Chris Brock is the ultimate douchenozzle.

I once heard that Randy Wolf had something to do with that as well. Any truth to that?

Chris Brock currently has the bare bones of his career plus this incident on Wikipedia. Although somebody should correct the spelling of "revered".

Truth there laddies. I still remember Bill Campbell and Byrum Saam and I didn't hear them near as long as you guys listened to Harry. And Harry was better than the other two guys even though they were pretty good.
