Five more wins should do it. Could happen.

Tonight's result was unexpected.

If only we had won that game we should have won.

Magic numbers:

2 over the DBacks
4 over the Nationals
6 over the Mets
7 over the Rockies
9 over the Reds and Brewers
10 over the Giants
11 over the Cardinals

He's at least a 4th outfielder. You'd hope for more from a #1 overall pick but that whole first round was weird.

I wouldn't say he looks over matched at this point, but he doesn't look real comfortable.

sss, but even without the epic HR, I think Marchan looks pretty good.

His throw to second on the stolen base was a laser.

I wanted Puk that year and he's been hampered by injuries. Senzel, Anderson and Lewis are off to great starts. Quantrill's been traded already. Garrett's debut against the Phils last weekend is his only ML experience. Zack Collins hasn't done shit in his two seasons in the majors. Pint, Ray and Manning haven't reached the majors yet. So yeah, that 1st round isn't looking so great right now, but of course the Dodgers (Lux, Smith) and Cardinals (Hudson) end up with the best picks. 2nd round that year had Alonso, Bichette and Bryan Reynolds, 3rd round had Zac Gallen and Aaron Civale, and the 4th round had Shane Bieber and Joey Lucchesi.

Marchan's cannon was something even though Neris gave him no chance to throw him out.

No. 1 Rays* vs. No. 8 Blue Jays
No. 2 White Sox* vs. No. 7 Indians
No. 3 Athletics* vs. No. 6 Astros
No. 4 Yankees vs. No. 5 Twins

NATIONAL LEAGUE
No. 1 Dodgers* vs. No. 8 Reds
No. 2 Cubs vs. No. 7 Phillies
No. 3 Braves vs. No. 6 Cardinals
No. 4 Padres vs. No. 5 Marlins

I would rather be safe in the 2 spot but would rather face the Cubs than the Padres. It wont look the same at the end but I don't even want to think what the Padres would do to the Phillies BP. Well any team, but especially them. I think they might win it all.

Feel like there may be shenanigans the last day or two where teams are trying to avoid that 5 spot where you probably have to beat both the padres and dodgers.

They’re not reseeding right? If they decide to do the expanded playoff long term they’ll probably want to reseed every round like the football or hockey or doing away with divisions like basketball.

If you are going to play the dodgers it might as well be the first round. That's going to be your best shot at them.

Yesterday the Phillies became the first team since the 1933 Yankees to score the first run of game 38 times in their first 51 games. The difference in the two teams is that those Yankees went 33-5,while the Phillies are 21-17.

Yup, no reseeding, so #8 would have to beat LA 2 outta 3 in LA then beat the #4 Padres in Arlington, or #5 would have to beat SD 2 outta 3 at Petco then beat the #1 Dodgers in Arlington

Cool that it could just as well be a Padres/White Sox World Series than the expected Dodgers/Yankees... though that Best of 3 could be expected to provide some major wrinkles to everything
Even if you get run over by a clown car and pissed on by a busload of school children, it's still your responsibility to interpret the meaning of the event and choose a response
