The next gm just needs to say Klentak screwed it up which is why he’s gone and hopefully they sign JT but they can’t just give a blank check to a 30 year old catcher if Harper wants to have a good team during his prime. If Harper flips out you deal with it but that’s where they are. GMs besides Hinkie get fired because they put team in bad situations.

We'll always have his first Phillies start. Almost magical. Who else could give us 4 innings of 3 run (2 earned) pitching against the Marlins?

Probably Vince (who would then give up 5 in the 5th)

You seem to be assuming the Phils won’t make the playoffs. The odds are still in their favor to make it.

Agree Jake's first Phillies start is better than the false hope of VV. I don't know if VV's hype after 2 Phillies starts will ever be matched.

Yeah me either, Especially with Jake done, that’s 2 more starts that they have no clue what they are going to do

I mean, there are only 12 games left and they are competing against a bunch of other shitty teams for one of the final three spots. It's not like any of them are going to run away with it. They will probably sneak in with a sub-.500 record.

Then Jake can redeem himself.

Just seems highly specific that he won’t be able to pitch in the last series of the year but he could pitch a few days later. Eflin might be better anyway.

The thing with this team is that they have two good starters and a good offense. If just two guys from the pen can step forward (jojo is one) and Eflin can string together a few good starts, which he's done in the past, they could easily make a run in the playoffs. I guess the lack of off days may make it harder to do with just 3 pitchers, but they don't need to win every game to advance.

Need more relievers with no offdays too.

Doesn’t seem to reflect well on the sport that whatever they’re saving by not having offdays seemingly can’t be balanced out by more national games with the stratified off days.

Toronto is probably gonna end us this weekend but at least if they survive this weekend, they can go Wheeler Monday in Washington and Saturday in Tampa and Nola Tuesday in Washington and Sunday in Tampa... also gives you the option if you somehow clinched a spot before Sunday to throw a BP game in Tampa and save Nola to start Game One of the Best of three... maybe these hurt guys are back too... but dropping these last two kill you I think

If the Phillies allow Brandon Workman to pitch again for them, I think I am going to have to follow my conscience, call the UN, and report them for human rights violations. It's unfair to everyone, including him. He's cooked, finished, donezo. Let it/him go.
