Citing a loss of more than $145 million this year and similar budget projections — absent a coronavirus vaccine — in 2021, the Phillies this week began the process to “meaningfully reduce our costs as an organization” by offering many full-time employees a buyout package.
The team’s ownership had pledged to not impose layoffs through Oct. 31, but multiple club sources indicated layoffs are now expected in addition to the buyouts. The buyout package — which offers eligible employees one week’s worth of salary for every year of employment with the Phillies, plus subsidized health benefits and a $10,000 lump-sum payment — targets many of the organization’s employees who are not in baseball operations.
Most baseball officials are under contract — executives, player-development coaches and staff, scouts, big-league coaches and staff — and those people are not eligible for the buyouts. Those areas of the organization could be reduced in November. Expiring contracts terminate Oct. 31.

He's at least a 4th outfielder. You'd hope for more from a #1 overall pick but that whole first round was weird.
I wanted Puk that year and he's been hampered by injuries. Senzel, Anderson and Lewis are off to great starts. Quantrill's been traded already. Garrett's debut against the Phils last weekend is his only ML experience. Zack Collins hasn't done shit in his two seasons in the majors. Pint, Ray and Manning haven't reached the majors yet. So yeah, that 1st round isn't looking so great right now, but of course the Dodgers (Lux, Smith) and Cardinals (Hudson) end up with the best picks. 2nd round that year had Alonso, Bichette and Bryan Reynolds, 3rd round had Zac Gallen and Aaron Civale, and the 4th round had Shane Bieber and Joey Lucchesi.

Ok, but he certainly isn't off to a "great start" and he is four years older than Moniac. Mickey could easily end up with the better MLB career. Obviously too soon to tell.

nope. i'm still out, just like bohm, hoskins, arrieta, wheeler, realmuto and howard. bohm might be back soon, but not me. playoffs-shmaoffs. following along as the phils get butchered by the padres or dodgers isn't my idea of fun. this totally sucks... i didn't think the season would end well, but i thought it would be covid-19 instead of the most concentrated injury plague in team history. wheeler, realmuto, and hoskins alone were on a pace for 15 wins of value over a full season, and all when down, together with arrieta and howard within a span of around a week. that's almost as mindblowing as the phils 2020 bullpen futility. which member of the phils organization offended a voodoo priest?

Beyond bad. But extrapolate beyond sports. This economy is smoke and mirrors.
