Morosi says phils talkingto bumgardner.
Two days later I get a text back that says I'm a basketball player and a businessman, not a Thundercat.

He’s played more than 150 games just twice in 8 seasons and has a career OPS of .742, which is barely above Cesar Hernandez and 1 point lower than Segura. He doesn’t strike out too much but I really don’t see him as an upgrade. Unless you factor in the Yankee Mystique. Am I missing something? Is he a super-elite defender?

I think he's certainly a better SS than Segura. Adds more pop too. Saw a 3/40 estimate which saves a couple bucks if Segura is part of a trade.

Think I'd just rather put Kingery at SS.

Segura and Didi are similarly valuable players. Didi is a replacement/upgrade for Cesar in this scenario, though.

Signing Didi, trading Segura for a SP seems more complicated than signing one of the dozen decent SP on the free agent market.

Gregorius would be a Franco replacement with Kingery going to 3rd. Then they'd see if they can dump Segura and sign Moustakas with the money saved. I'd guess they'll end up signing just one of Moustakas or Gregorius and keeping Segura.

Segura was crap defensively, and was a disappointment with the bat as well.

Yankees report Didi as an on-field and clubhouse leader. *

*Not an endorsement to sign him

Segura has been traded 4 times already. Seems like a lot of teams wanted to get rid of him.

Manuel, Bowa, among group sleeping outside to raise money for homeless children

In the wow, like 50 years, I've been following Bowa, including when I liked him as a player, I think this is the first time I've seen a story about him where I thought he seemed like a nice guy.

Gotta admit I was surprised when I saw Charlie's tweet a couple weeks ago indicating the BowaConstrictor was also participating.

Morosi was on MLB Hot Stove a little bit ago. He said he doesn't like the Phillies chances for Gerritt Cole or Strasburg but thinks that by New Years Day they will have signed one of Hamels, Wheeler or Madbum.

I agree with him on Cole and Strasburg. I think that they'll nail two of the last three.

I have a feeling Bumgarner is going to end up with the Barves.
