Hearing that the Phillies and owner John Middleton are still pondering manager Gabe Kapler’s future and resolution likely won’t come until next week.

Developing Kingery and signing him to that ridiculous contract was a great move. This isn't someone who blew hundreds of millions on bad players and put the team in bad financial shape like Dombrowski did. Some people are calling for Klentak's head because he *didn't* sign Dallas Keuchel... It just seems like fans overreacting. The payroll situation is good. There's a bunch of good young players on the team. They just had one year where they underperformed and had a bunch of injuries.

If he loses his job it's because he's been at the helm of a rebuilding team for 4 going on 5 years now and the only for sure good young player he's developed is Kingery. Every other good player on the team was either here when he got here or was previously an all star elsewhere that he outbid other teams for through free agency or trade. We shouldn't still be dealing with the massive questions we have in the rotation, whichever 2 of the CF/2B/3B you don't count Kingery for. And bullpen but that's not really his fault with the injuries (then again if more relievers developed in the system)...
