wish I could, I feel like I'm playing great the past two weeks. I got 100something in another 24 dollar tourney(24k guaranteed) and got knocked out on a bad beat, so I could've gone a lot further. OH well, good luck trt, you should have fun/do well

wow

was up a little and this hand just 5 minutes before I was planning to leave

NLHE .5/1 7 handed
UTG- pocket 8's

raise to 3.50

UTG+1 reraises to 12

folds

BTN calls
I call (almost folded but I figure it's good hand to stack someone if I hit with the wild action Ive seen with going all in with top pair and bad kicker)

flop:

8:h: 7:h: 5:d:

I aint screwing around with this hand as I know at least one of these guys has a big pocket pair (most likely the reraiser) and I bet 32

UTG+1 goes all in

BTN calls!!! (had less)

duh, I call

UTG+1 K:h: K:c:

BTN 7:d: 7:s:

so basically I avoid runner runner hearts and there are only 3 cards that can hurt me left in the deck.

turn: 2:h:

UH OH

river 7:c:

yeah that's right, a one outer to get quads....

sigh

well, thats really like a 3 outer, since you have to count both kings, the other seven (plus the small chance of running hearts).

still sucks though

you played it fine, rationale and all. the only other note that makes it even more mandatory to bet hard on the flop on that board is the texture. 2 suited and with a variety of possible draws, with that action preflop, there's a good chance someone has an overpair and if they don't they could have 2 overs with a nut flush draw or even another set or something like 66 where they have a pair + OESD.

so you definitely have to bet the flop, and bet pot or near pot (as you did).

just unlucky with that result.

running the cards in the calculator- it's amazing that the 7's still have a 4.54% chance to win on the flop, the kings were 12.74%

I just heard about the news. He apparently died in his sleep.

Great player obviously, but might be best known to most people as the first winner of the 50K HORSE championship

I saw that. I was planning on going to AC that weekend(I have off that Monday), so that screws things up for me. I'll still try and make it.
