played at Ocean's 11 today- lost 60 after 5 hours- started to get tired after long day of travel and called it a night- may beback tomorrow

I did get quads fromthe big blind my 8 5o hit a 8 8 8 flop, I actually got paid a little as I made small bets and got the ace highs to call me

lol

i kinda lost my drive to play...just don't have the passion for it that i did before. i think it's partly due to the fact that my favorite game was MTTs, and i just never had time to play an MTT since they can take 5-6 hours and i just don't like being stuck at the keyboard that long when i have better things to do with my time. and yes, spending time with my wonderful fiancee is a big part of said "better things to do with my time."

i still play a STT or two once in a while and i still play the live game, but i just don't really care as much anymore.

from a financial perspective, it's probably a waste, but so far poker has paid for a few nice new computers for me over the last few years, and that's allright with me.

Do you think a poker coaching internet site (like stoxpoker or cardrunners) would be worthwhile for me? Considering I would only get to play online poker maybe 5-8 hours (if that) a week. Also- for those who know me, am I coachable enough for something like this to be worthwhile?

What areas are you trying to improve?

You are coachable enough.

Given the rates you have to pay for quality coaching, you'd probably need to be playing at a little higher stakes for it to be really worthwhile. You are good enough now to beat the sort of stakes you are playing at a rate where improving significantly will be difficult.

Given what happened last time you had a hot run and built a little BR, I'm thinking lessons in BR management (which is harder to coach and harder for many people to accept) is more important than actual poker knowledge.

agreed on the BR part, but I really question whether Im good enough for cash games that are 100BB or greater- I tend to win a lot of small pots but get myself stacked with premium pairs or other big hands that get busto'd

I dont know if it's whether I am in tourney mode of thinking people bluff too much and call big bets when I have 3rd nuts (this hand comes to mind) or if I making the wrong bets or if Im just running bad and feel like Im playing poorly.

that was a fun night

i made more mistakes than usual

i dont know if calling pac's push with A2 was a mistake, given how often he was pushing. i think i'm probably slightly ahead of his pushing range there, at best, but i could also have probably afforded to wait for a better spot.

and i'm still torn as to whether or not checking with top pair on my busto hand was a mistake. part of me thought brian would make a position stab at the pot and i could raise, part of me figured any card other than A/K/Q is good and since neither of you two raised preflop even those 3 aren't too bad.

oh well.

you both played well, i'm glad it came down to us three.
