Good scores may get you noticed, but consistency keeps you in the line-up. And as Pac pointed out, it's all about making spares.

Good bowlers throw strikes. Great bowlers make spares.

One of the best pieces of bowling advice I got as a kid was, "Make your spares, and the strikes will come."

Sounds like your son is on the right track. Especially bowling PJBT will be good preparation for high school bowling, and beyond should he choose. Good luck to him!

Yeah we are lucky here in PA to have something like PJBT. Matt and everybody do a great job and really helps youth competitive bowlers.

Well the HS season is ramping up. The Boy is the Number 3 on the team (two seniors are 1 and 2). He was averaging 217 in two matches before yesterday's match against Pennridge. He tossed a 606 yesterday as the Knights took 3 of 4 points against their house rivals. Good start. Side note: That Pennsbury team is awesome.

Side, side note....Happy to report that last night I tossed my third 700 series in the last 6 weeks. Have not had a series under 600 since my 50th birthday in October. Not bad considering this time 4 years ago I had never thrown a 200 game in my life. Trying desperately to stay ahead of the Boy. We are both still searching for our first 300. At this point, I think it's a coin flip on who gets there first.

no, their team gets put in the Snow Roller tourney which is a little more competitive for their team. She, however, will be in Disney with her school orchestra.

Yeah it's always something. My son was in Hawaii a few weeks ago for the waikiki parade (North Penn participated this year). And he's in like 5 bands since he's the only Bassoon player (plus tenor sax in the jazz band). I honestly don't know how he does it all.

The NP boys did the Icebreaker, The NP girls are doing the Snow Roller. It was kind of neat to see some kids that we know from PJBT in a high school setting. We know more than a few from those Berks schools.

Yes...yes you do. It's generally the highlight of my week. Not sure what that says about me.

A real man would have her series in the 700s consistently! Just kidding, congrats! I honestly don't think I've ever had a series that good.

Not sure if you're being facetious (I assume you are), but to be safe, a series is typically 3 games, so the highest series is 900.

Very nice. Continual improvement and consistency is the name of the game. Sounds like she's well on her way.

My son was slumping hard for a few weeks. Trying to break down his game and build it up again. Footwork was horrible. It's starting to get better. After that, working on the swing plane. Build the foundation first.

Well the North Penn High school boys AND girls teams will be on their way to the Eastern PA regionals in two weeks. And amazingly, The Boy snuck his way into the boys singles field for East Regional by finishing top 4 in the Suburban One League Championships earlier this week. His game still isn't firing on all cylinders, but he's slowly coming out of it. Made some bad mistakes and left more than a few pins on the deck, but did just enough. Two freshman at North Penn will be in the east regional championships. That's not too common I'm told.
