Great bowling!
(Brandy) only hinted at Halladay's personal issues during her Hall of Fame speech last July, when she said, "Roy would want everyone to know that people are not perfect. We're all imperfect and flawed in one way or another. We all struggle."

I swear this will be the last time I resurrect this topic (son is a senior). Eastern Regionals are tomorrow and friday (singles and team respectively). It's going to be another tough row to hoe for singles. The kids will need to finish in top 12 out of an expected 185 person field. Can't have a bad game or you're toast.

North Penn team won their league for the 6th straight year. Individually they had the top 3 averages. My son was second. His teammate challenged the state record and ended with a 235 average. The team is not as good as last year since the other two bowlers aren't as good as last year.

I would be surprised if we don't send one of ours to state singles. A lot is going to have to go right for the team to qualify for states (And I doubt it will). I'll predict that Cedar Crest takes the regional team title.

Anyway, last time, wish 'em luck.

Good luck

I'm going to my last Nationals event for the foreseeable future in 2.5 months. It'll be my 14th. Hoping for a good showing in my last one. I've still yet to best my first year 735 singles. Nationals is a different breed.

Closing the book...son wasn’t particularly sharp and wasn’t happy with his bowling. Still finished 19th out of 185. One of his teammates finished 3rd and will go to states (also threw a 300 in qualifying). On Saturday the team did solid with limited expectations. 12th of 39 (I think it was 39). A solid final season for the Boy. On his final shot of his high school career, he buried a strike. This thread my now sink into oblivion.

Is he going to bowl in college?

Doubtful. He has committed to U of Tennessee to study Nuclear Engineering. They don't have a club bowling team (looks like they used to about 6 or 7 years ago). Conceivably he could try to get it going again, but he will be busy with studies and music (will minor in applied music for bassoon performance). I wouldn't put it past him though.

He was accepted into several schools that did have bowling programs, but UT was better overall fit for a number of reasons. Bowling was never the primary (or even secondary) factor for his college search.
