Yeah, but given how our defense has been playing...

Graves is a minor league d-man. Perhaps he’ll be a filler for when Myers comes up here after the Flyers move one of their defensemen.

just a contract arizona needed to move since they were at 50. not sure he'll be in reading's top six.

Charlie O'Connor on the Athletic doesn't really like or dislike the trade, but points out that Weal's metrics are good. He and his linemates just can't convert possession and shot edge into goals, which of course are what a top-9 forward needs to produce. O'Connor speculates he may be a bit unlucky, or that he may find a 4th-line role somewhere.

I feel like that is the same scouting report we got when we got Weal a few years ago

I didn't think that Weal would be the first to go off of the roster but I'm OK with that its a start. Others will be soon to follow. Interesting that Fletcher didn't have to just flat out give away Weal. A sixth round DC isn't much but its something and the Flyers didn't have to retain salary, even though that was not a big thing.
