so going forward they are set in net with hart. no need to look into doing anything there.

on defense they have prov, sanheim, hagg, ghost, myers and morin. i think the first three are likely to be mainstays for the future. i think myers is the best bet to join them. if morin turns into something, great. i could see them moving on from ghost. gudas is just a guy. if he's wanted in a trade i'd send him packing. they need another top end guy and could hopefully use some of the excess, younger defense to do so. i'm not sure who that guy is. i've seen pareyko/pietrangelo might be available. hamilton's name is out there too, but he moves around so much something has to be up there.

def have some parts on offense. g/coots/konecny/patrick/jvr (some talk they are taking calls on him though). i'm glad that it seems that simmonds has a lot of trade value. can prob get a late first for him and a younger player like kapanen. frost will be on the team. i'd see if dallas was interested in a benn for voracek swap. they seem intent on running him out of town. same age and similar contracts. maybe they can lure panarin if they hire quenneville since they have a good relationship. if not, i'm not sure quenneville needs to be the hire.

i'll continue to expect the worse though.

I mean why wouldn't they at least field calls? New GM, New Coach, just because old regime wanted him doesn't mean new regime wouldn't move him in the right deal.

He is going to be 30 in May so he's not exactly a young piece. Everyone talks about how old Simmonds is but he is like 9 months older than JVR.
