I think how Stolarz plays down the stretch will determine if they need a veteran this offseason. The goalie pipeline is ridiculous. Credit Hextall for taking a goalie every year in the draft. Felix Sandstrom is coming to the AHL next year and is still a very good prospect. Fletcher mentioned he'd like to get Kirill Ustimenko over to North America soon too. That's not even mentioning Samuel Ersson who's probably the best prospect outside of Hart. My guess is Lyon is gone this offseason. If Stolarz isn't the back-up to Hart next year he's probably gone too. Exciting times.
Darren Dreger on TSN 1050 said that for mid-market teams like the Columbus Blue Jackets, Pittsburgh Penguins and St. Louis Blues, they would have to overpay to re-sign/sign Artemi Panarin as geography will matter.
“So I’m looking at the Islanders – I think Panarin would love to play with Mat Barzal. I’m looking at even the Philadelphia Flyers, depending on what happens. I didn’t know this, maybe you guys did and it slipped under my radar – apparently Philadelphia came real close to acquiring Panarin at the draft last year.
“… I don’t know what the components were, but I know that Philadelphia felt like they were pretty close to getting Panarin at the draft.”
Now, Chuck Fletcher is the new GM in Philadelphia, but he has the assets and they could still be a possible landing spot.
Down 1 after 2, think they came close to tying it during a scrum in front of the net, well close enough for the replay center to stop the next face off before giving the Ok but the solid production of NBCSP decided not to show a replay
Even if you get run over by a clown car and pissed on by a busload of school children, it's still your responsibility to interpret the meaning of the event and choose a response
