It blows up any insurance the team had on him. The dude exploded Spring '16. He will be 36 for the start of next season. Quality thinking.

Agree. I always respected Wright and was bummed he was on the Mets.

Did he actually play in that game?

Had a couple plate appearances and threw a guy out at first.
Fine. You wanna act like you're two? I'll act like I'm one.

He's one of their all-time best players. More than just pure $ should go into that decision.

He may be a dirty Met, but I always respected and even liked Wright. I always wished he was a Phillie instead.

Reyes got his send-off yesterday. He's a UFA and might retire

Tim Healey@timbhealey

Jose Reyes is the Mets’ nominee for the Marvin Miller Man of the Year award.

It’s an MLBPA honor, with players voting for who they “most respect based on his leadership on the field and in the community.”

I saw a story somewhere that called him the second best Met ever.
(Brandy) only hinted at Halladay's personal issues during her Hall of Fame speech last July, when she said, "Roy would want everyone to know that people are not perfect. We're all imperfect and flawed in one way or another. We all struggle."

He's 2nd in franchise history in bWAR behind Seaver.

Wild how it fell apart for him. He seemed like a HOF lock at the beginning of the decade.
Two days later I get a text back that says I'm a basketball player and a businessman, not a Thundercat.

Went to a showcase camp w Wright @ Duke many years ago. He hit 3 hrs in 4 ABs against different live pitchers (LCF, CF, RCF). I only hit 1 but it was a bomb vs his liners. Physically what stood out is that he was pretty short (5'10?) and had massive calves. FSU assistant was joking around w him the whole time about enjoying his signing bonus (they had tried to 'kroot him obviously). No idea why he was there in retrospect. Bj upton was also there and was by far the fastest player I've seen on field level

He was floating around top 5 in MLB with Chase, Pujols, Cabrera and Sizemore before the concussions etc started. If he wasn't a Mets I'd be really bummed about it.
