Cespedes says that the cause of his medical issues is calcification in both heels. He says the only way to fix the issue is surgery. He’s considering it for the off-season, but the recovery time is apparently 8-10 months. Cespedes was asked if he could get through this season, he shrugged and said he didn’t know.

Announced he is getting surgery now.

They'd probably lose at losing then.

[Ehalt] This seems like a joke, but it's not: Jacob deGrom's last 12 starts: 1-6, 1.87 ERA. 87 IP, 65 H, 18 ER, 95 K.

saw the deGrom stats elsewhere. He'd not miss a beat as a Phillies as he'd get no run support here. I'd be happy to take him on as a reclamation project. I'd trade them Short Stop Asdrubal Cabrera, and some other pieces.

Is Reyes dancing on the mound between pitches?

Espn pitch stats have him throwing a 48 mph curve to Zimmerman.

Of course they also label all of his 80 mph fastballs as "changeups."

Read somewhere earlier that the only reason Reyes is on the team and starting is because of the Wilpons. He's been awful. And the fans have been booing him. So that's pretty funny.

The most lopsided shutout in the modern record book is when the Pirates beat the Cubs 22–0 in 1975, and if any game felt like it could beat that, it was this one. Considering the score and inning and just general Metsness, New York seemed prime to etch its name in history, albeit not in the way the team wanted this year.

ESPNStatsInfo
José Reyes is the first player in MLB history to allow multiple HR as a pitcher, then hit multiple HR in the team's next game

You raise a good possibility, but it appears The Babe never gave up more than one HR in a game. Of course, the ball wasn't exactly flying out of the park during the height of his pitching career.
