"Don't Mets Up a Good Thing": Discuss the METS

July 6:
34-49, 4th place, 13.5 GB
-57 run differential
deGrom is 5-4 in 17 starts
Thor has only 11 starts
Wright hasn't played all season
They still have road trips to the Yankees, Boston, Chicago, Los Angeles and San Francisco (and two more visits to CBP)

Pretty good.

Jenrry Mejia is being given one more chance after Manfred conditionally reinstated him. Allowed to use the Mets' facilities after the All-Star break, can pitch in minors in August, can participate in ST in 2019

I think they should trade us DeGrom or Syndergaard... they need to go to a winner

This will be deGrom's ninth no decision. He is 5-4 and his ERA lowers to 1.79.

Cespedes says that the cause of his medical issues is calcification in both heels. He says the only way to fix the issue is surgery. He’s considering it for the off-season, but the recovery time is apparently 8-10 months. Cespedes was asked if he could get through this season, he shrugged and said he didn’t know.

I wonder what would be a legit Phillies offer for DeGrom or Syndegaard?

Would it be worth it... serious question... to have two aces in Nola + DeGrom/Syndegaard under control with Arrieta a good number three and guys like Eflin, Pivetta, and Velasquez filling out the rotation ... spend money on a big bat or two in the offseason...

Jacob deGrom is on pace to be the first pitcher in MLB’s Modern Era to have an ERA below 2.00, pitch more than 200 innings and win fewer than 10 games.

Pretty great exchange on Fugees
