Like I said they seem to be pretty lazy and didn't go through a lot of interviews to find him, plus Jerry is probably doing everything he can to save his boy.

Well they essentially hired Bryan the day they introduced Jerry. Their worst sin thus far was caving to league and public pressure, which has to be pretty strong anti Colangelo now.

And again -- why not leak "hey it may not be so bad" type of stuff to Woj if this is even 25/75%? They did the opposite.

I think they are business men who are looking at the timing and figuring Eversley will have to run the ship at least through the draft so they are now looking at the best way to save $. Either they are figuring out how to fire him with cause to negate his contract or they are negotiating a settlement. There can't be any way that he stays.

Not sure if there's been better cover than a finals game and the eagles whitehouse thing.
Two days later I get a text back that says I'm a basketball player and a businessman, not a Thundercat.

Maybe I missed the Woj stuff, but I thought it said he was fighting for his job and the Sixers were still thinking about it. To me it came off more as 50/50 as if you have decided you wouldn't be persuaded by him fighting for his job.

See, this is where I disagree with you guys. Josh Harris is, as you know, a private equity guy. P/Es live and breathe risk vs. reward, investment vs. return. In considering the BC situation, Harris will look to protect his investment first and foremost. And in the risk/reward analysis, he will be hard-pressed to dream up enough reward to offset the risk of keeping BC around.

This team is on the doorstep of the NBA finals and there is a far greater chance that BC's continued presence impedes that progress rather than augments it.

I think that was WIP's Jon Johnson. Here's Woj's latest, on the heels of how angry the owners are over "this terrible episode"

I was going off this from yesterday.

Rob Lopez

Woj: Bryan Colangelo and his wife were interviewed separately for 'hours'.

Ownership will have have to make a decision in the next 24-48 hours and decide if they can separate him from what his wife may have said.

"(Colangelo) is fighting for his professional life right now."

In all seriousness, what do he and Brown and Williams (and possibly a new hire) lack that Colangelo brings?

Is that Rob Lopez analysis or Woj?

In either case of course he's fighting for his professional life. But that's not the Sixers leaking "hey this maybe isn't so bad...." to soften the ground for him staying. They have instead been cementing the ground.

I think Lopez was writing what Woj had said on Sportscenter.

His dad hired him after the league forced us to hire his dad.

Also think Jerry is gone if Bryan is gone, which probably gives ownership hesitation. Who knows how deep that relationship is and what kind of money Jerry has made ownership behind the scenes.

Playing experience? I guess? Can't really tell if Eversley played anywhere. Colangelo apparently played at Cornell. Eversley may be too business side with the Nike connection, not a pure basketball guy? I dunno, I'm grasping at straws

Williams has more playing experience than Collar, and Brown as much or more. Not sure about Eversley. I'll take my chances.

Lebron "going to 8 straight finals is tough."

Colangelo "I hear you, takes me back to when we use to play Harvard on a Friday night, then have to travel all the way to New haven to take on Yale the next day!"
