The Phillies' 8th round pick, Jhordany Mezquita, is from the DR; when the Phillies wanted to sign him as an international free agent, they learned he was draft eligible because he'd gone to HS in New Jersey.

How does the food come out
In a family size bucket... seriously I was there two weeks ago passing through and craved Long Johns and saw that... should have taken a pic... I went inside and waited like 20 minutes for the crack staff to get me my food with no one else in line
Is there a reason they just don't handle the transaction by hand?

Maybe they are afraid of coming out of the restaurant in fear of getting shot... the 2017 version of Hazleton is like a Grand Theft Auto town

Thank you @Phillies for the amazing opportunity! Can't wait to get after it!

1 - Can't imagine Haseley got the full 4.7 slot (last year the 7-9 guys seemed to go at 10-15% below slot)
2 - Jeff Ellis of scout.com is pretty adamant in his belief that Howard was an underslot deal in the 2nd
3 - Seabold was a bit of a reach too maybe a discount
4 - Scheiner was completely off the board - find it hard to believe he got full slot
5 -HS kid probably full slot
6 - Guthrie probably full slot
7 - Maton - no idea
8 - His original bonus was under 100k so this slot minus that bonus is probably the savings
9 and 10 - senior signs - 5K
Again I could be reading the situation wrong but I think we're taking a big name in the 11th

That seems like a very good guess or maybe one of the socal kids (hurt or Mitchell) since we are currently obsessed wth SoCal
i feel like they should have some pool money too. maybe mcmahon?

#Phillies get SS Jake Holmes. Looks the part. Swung it a lot better this spring. At least 6 run. Might grow out of SS. #mlbdraft
Christopher CrawfordVerified @Crawford_MILB
The Phillies got a good one in round 11 in Jake Holmes. A shortstop with plus speed and some power potential in his bat.
Scouting grades: Hit: 45 | Power: 50 | Run: 60 | Arm: 50 | Field: 50 | Overall: 45
Pinnacle High School in Arizona has had three players taken in the Draft over the years, but none earlier than the 21st round, and none have ever reached the big leagues. Holmes should beat his predacessors by plenty, with some late helium this spring as the Draft approached.
Holmes is big, strong and athletic with some tools to dream on. While he's 6-foot-4, he is a 60 runner on the 20-to-80 scouting scale and maybe even better than that once he's underway. That should help him on the basepaths and gives him solid range while playing shortstop. It's possible he'll outgrow the position, where he has an average, sometimes a tick above, arm, once he physically matures, but he should be able to handle a move to third without a problem and his speed could work from the outfield. At the plate, he has good bat speed, strength and loft to his swing, though he's mostly been a line-drive hitter this year. He's struggled with good breaking stuff at times, but he has shown an ability to make adjustments in the past.
Holmes picked up steam with a big performance in front of a lot of eyes, with decision-makers pouring in to see him. He had a definite up arrow next to his name and could see his name go off the board in the top four rounds.
Scouting grades: Fastball: 50 | Curveball: 50 | Slider: 55 | Changeup: 50 | Control: 50 | Overall: 45
Undrafted out of a Virginia high school in 2014 and Florence-Darlington Tech (S.C.) JC in 2015, Parkinson should be the first pitcher selected in the state of Mississippi this time around. There's nothing flashy about him, but he has been the Rebels' most consistent starter since moving into their rotation in mid-2016.
Parkinson's best pitch is his slider, which grades as plus when at its best. His fastball sits at 88-92 mph and reaches 94, standing out more for its life than its velocity. He also has aptitude for throwing a changeup and will spin a curveball to give hitters a different look.
Parkinson succeeds by mixing pitches and filling the strike zone. At the next level, he projects as a back-of-the-rotation starter and also could help as a situational reliever whose fastball would be firmer and whose slider would be sharper in shorter stints.

#Phillies 13th rounder Colby Fitch @UofLBaseball is going to be very solid hitter as a pro. Good approach and has power
Scouting grades: Hit: 45 | Power: 45 | Run: 30 | Arm: 50 | Field: 45 | Overall: 45
Gatorade's 2014 Missouri high school player of the year, Fitch spent much of his first two years at Louisville as a backup to Will Smith, a Dodgers 2016 first-rounder. The Cardinals' pitching staff hasn't skipped a beat this spring with Fitch behind the plate and his offensive potential as a left-handed-hitting catcher should help him in a Draft weak at that position.
Though he slumped for much of March and April, Fitch still stands out more on offense than defense. He has a disciplined approach, employing a compact swing, working counts and using the whole field. He makes a lot of hard contact and projects to have double-digit home run power at the next level.
Fitch's defensive game still requires more refinement. He has an average arm but needs to get more consistent with his footwork and accuracy. He's a serviceable receiver who'll have to work on his lateral movement.
