Could be a salary dump as part of a Yelich trade, with Cesar part of the package going to Miami

If someone switched out Hernandez for Gordon, it would probably take a week or so to notice.

Now back to the point... what is the point of this?

Dee Gordon, closest comps: Age 26, Chippy McGarr. Age 27 Specs Torporcer.

Add Yelich and the japanese reliever with a high salary.

Huge salary dump for Cesar, who's a nice 2Bman with a low salary.

Hopefully we can move Gordon later, as his contract is significnat.

Among the following group of second basemen: Cesar, Kingery and Dee Gordon. I like Dee Gordon 4th best.

Taking Gordon's contract may be the price for getting Yelich.

I would think it would be expressed differently than a "sincere interest" if they wanted him as a salary dump.

I don't think Dee has too much negative value. The contract isn't great (3/38m after this year with 14m 2020 option) but I'd bet they could give him away for a PTBNL type prospect. It is the Marlins, so you never know. Yelich and Gordon for Cesar, Pullin and Eflin or Thompson. We could then try to trade Gordon in the offseason while eating a bunch of the salary.

So are we making a deal for Dee Gordon and Christian Yelich or what... I guess we could flip Gordon somewhere else or move Kingery to third and trade Cesar and Franco... lots of moving parts to constructing the next version of this Phils squad

Latest I read today was that the Marlins' sale was in such a state of flux that they're not dealing any of Yelich, Stanton, Realmuto, but may move Gordon. Take it FWIW.

I think they're confusing sale with garbage day
