But he's assuming Dobbs plays 3B.

i was 100% behind that scenario before the night started, but feliz got some hits and saved cole with his defense, i think i'd go with him tomorrow again

same.

it sucks myers wont bat tomorrow

Question... could he bat? As a pitcher, are you allowed to be the DH too, or by rule do you need a seperate player?

i am 99% sure myers could bat and they could decline the DH

yup.

But why? I mean, yeah, he's good, but I'd rather have a legit hitter like Dobby or Stairs or even Jenkins. I think the Coste experiment is over.

You guys would seriously rather have Myers hit than have Matt Stairs go to the plate four times? Jesus. Really showing our NL status here.

Myers can take pitches, but he doesn't really have power. And, I also think you don't want him using up energy and risking injury running around the bases. If Myers has a cameo plate appearance, I'd expect it to be in a situation where the Phils have a small lead, a short bench and two outs with no one on.

That's exactly the logic Jim Fregosi used to bring Mitch Williams into the bottom of the 9th in game 6 of the 1993 WS.

If So Taguchi can't play left field for one fuck-ing inning in a game where, to the best of my recollection, NO balls were hit to left field for outs, and he can't hit either, WHAT IN THE NAME OF GOD IS HE DOING ON THE ROSTER?!?!?!?!?!?!?

How can the Phillies buy out his contract from the Flyers? Or "trade" him for Tom McCarthy? Or just have Tom McCarthy killed?

So Taguchi will be one of the great mysteries of our lifetime.
you sure do seem to have a lot of time on your hands to be on this forum? Do you have a job? Are you a shut-in?

Here's a question - how are you able to suit up in the post-season?

I saw Greg Golson in uniform last night warming up with the team. I saw Kyle Kendrick in street clothes immediately after the game. Neither are on the active roster so. . . .?

Tom Gordon was in the dugout with #45 on. I scrambled to find a roster to make sure that he wasn't there.

Probably because you can make roster changes in the event of an injury.
