The problem is using the "team" concept in assessing regular season results. If the regular season were scheduled like the postseason (two off days a week), the season would by 11 months long, Lidge and Madson would combine to throw 280 innings, Kendrick/Eaton would throw 0, and the Phillies would carry a 10 man pitching staff.
