Yeah, they don't give a shit other than having power under the banner of the GOP.

this is it. a lot of us (me) fooled ourselves into thinking government was about fairness and the things that go along with that like logic, but to the GOP that's secondary, if at all. the power is the currency they operate on.

the Trumpies think the West is using crisis actors in Aleppo. I'm not sure how to unravel this anymore.

The story we guessed at during the campaign, Trump used his own businesses to the tune of 12.5m. I am just amazed it was so low.

What is happening in NC is unspeakable. It makes me want to root for a left wing dictator to seize control, because why the fuck not considering how much respect the GOP has for elections and democracy?

NC is completely embarrassing. The shame with which the GOP has ruled, not led, but ruled is the right word. I am not sure what happens, but it seems as if there is some percentage of people who are predisposed to run for office, and when they arrive they reveal themselves to be total ass hats. There is some kind of dictator complex that runs through the veins of some of these people.

Comey: didn't think it right NOT to act; lack of action might be taken as partisan move.

This is fascinating and under reported. A corrupt lobbyist (drain the swamp) with direct ties to Russia helping make cabinet picks.

Also, there should be a follow up story on that Trump computer that was pinging back to Russia.

This is saddening.

the Trump campaign had an 'agreement' with Sinclair Broadcasting Group for 'fairer' coverage. Their anchors would be told what questions to ask, wouldn't opine, etc

SBG has a LOT of local television stations (154). None in Philly, but has 3 in Scranton, one in Altoona, one in Harrisburg, and 3 in Pittsburgh. Basically, they're in smaller metro areas and service more rural areas.

We must be talking radio here right? Otherwise, how would one company own three tv stations in a market like Scranton? And is altoona even a real market?

Tv. You can now own multiple stations. FCC allowed it back in 1999. As long as there are enough other outlets you can do it.

And Altoona's real enough and made a huge difference in the election with how it voted.

New Jersey 2016 prez results by municipality

Just looking at some Burlington County municipalities Trump won my hometown of Medford by 4%, but Romney had won by 13%. Next township out, Tabernacle (much more piney), went from Romney +18 to Trump +30. So the towns voted 5 points apart four years ago, to 26 points different this time. Draw your suburbs/rural line.

JH, did you make a post a few years ago about the republican party and how it cares more about winning and how they all coalesce around that? and that the democratic party will always have issues till they can do that?
