Never in the history of the Republic has there been candidate more favored by the media than Trump. He is a creature of the mass media. Even when there was the appearance of criticism, the result was in fact fawning and adoring admiration. This was especially the case during early primaries. Even more serious minded outlets than the nonsense one finds on television, in attempting to appear "unbiased" were unforgivably guilty of false equivalency. There was a complete absence of policy oriented coverage--no mention of the economic devastation that could follow a 45% tariff on goods imported from China for instance.

Those who forget history are doomed to repeat it.

Clicking through random post election shit - Elliott County, KY, coal country in Eastern Kentucky, voted Trump 70%-26%. Not particularly noteworthy except this county has NEVER voted for a Republican before for President. Formed in 1869. Voted 73% for Walter fucking Mondale. Obama won it 61%-38% in 2008, 49%-47% in 2012, and Trump won it by 44 points.

Rachel Maddow just said that idiot Trump supporters have been calling the Hamilton Theatre in Canada and telling them to that they're going to boycott them.

Rudy for DNI summarizes why Trump is unqualified to lead the Nation. Find so.ething someone cannot possibly do, and put them in charge. Good to know he is for waterboarding.

I'm gone?

I mean let's be real here, everything I said about this election a year ago, which I was absolutely mocked for on here, came to fruition.

Could you re-post the part where you predicted that drumpf would lose the popular vote by close to 2 million votes yet win the office? I'm thinking I missed that.
Yes, but in a double utley you can put your utley on top they other guy's utley, and you're the winner. (Swish)

its wild that there's at least 1 real Trump controversy PER DAY that things like this aren't as heavily discussed

The statement came from Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov, who said in an interview with the state-run Interfax news agency that "there were contacts" with the Trump team. "Obviously, we know most of the people from his entourage," Ryabkov said. "We have just begun to consider ways of building dialogue with the future Donald Trump administration and channels we will be using for those purposes," Ryabkov was quoted as saying. Ryabkov provided no further details, and his remarks drew a swift denial from Trump spokeswoman Hope Hicks, who said the campaign had "no contact with Russian officials" before Tuesday's election.

Hillary Clinton looks likely to hit 65M votes, roughly on par w/ Obama '12, and win popular vote by ~2.5M:

Trump's Toughest Transition Test - The Trump Organization

The New York Post! is concerned about Trump's conflicts of interest and monetizing the presidency. Good. We need more voices from the right calling this nonsense out. As they note at the end, we'd be mad at Chelsea running the Clinton Foundation - which doesn't go into the Clinton's actual bank account. This current set up is fucking ludicrous.

I'm wondering what degree of resistance the GOP congress puts up to this shit, and it's probably way less than is right but hopefully a bit more than would be expected. I'm not completely sure how committee jurisdiction works in the Senate on investigating the president - I know in the House there's Gov't Affairs and Oversight with Chaffetz who isn't enamored with Trump so maybe stuff happens there too - but the Senate Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations on the Homeland Security and Government Affairs Committee - which as best I can tell is the vehicle, has the following GOP members: Portman (chair), McCain, Rand Paul, Lankford (Oklahoma), Ayotte (lost), and Ben Sasse. I mean. That's an incredible lineup of people who do not give a fuck about pissing off Trump barring Lankford. The one downside is the Dems are folks up in 2018 where Trump won - McCaskill, Tester, Baldwin, Heitkamp. Obviously Baldwin is in a different spot than the others, but not sure she's who they want leading the fight anyway. Might want to cycle a bulldog on there if this is actually going to be something providing Trump oversight and let Heitkamp go hide somewhere else.

it would probably be in the GOP's best interest to lead the Trump impeachment. They get rid of the loon, keep Pence, all branches of government and they can save their reputation by pretending to be morally just.

Justin Amash (R, MI) called him out on twitter fwiw. Hopefully he is the first of many. You can bet for sure Trump saw the tweet with how consumed he is with the medium and who says anything negative about him.

One of the defenses seems to be it's only been two weeks. He needs time to figure it out. Sucks he started running for president a year and a half ago, which allowed him not to think about it at all. He was never asked about it either so he could not have seen it coming.
